Since the election may well not be decided on Election Day the next day will be that much worse. I get needing mail in voting, but the idea of having to wait days before states call it is going to be more than nerve wracking.

You're right. I'd better take all of November off just to be sure.
Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary at my no-longer-new job. I got a really nice review from my boss, who reassured me that she gets plenty of great feedback from residents and staff. It's been in many ways a very good year, except financially. I'm getting a $0.51 raise, which doesn't help all that much.
Now if I could just have a side hustle again -- well that's not happening too soon. Because too much virus danger both for me -- which I could maybe accept -- but for all the vulnerable people that I could give it to.
Congrats on one-year with a nice review, Theo! I'm sorry it's not more financially rewarding.
I don't think I can schedule time off in November but I do have sick time ready to go if I need it...not enough for the whole month, but a couple of days I could manage
Timelies all!
Congrats, Gud!
Congrats, Shir!
I definitely plan to take election week off. If Biden wins I won't need the whole week, but if it stretches out or Trump wins, I totally will. The question is how to enjoy the week with friends...
I now have a meeting with the department head tomorrow morning. Dunno if it is an exit interview or a little arm twisting or both.
I'm not sure if taking days off after election day will help me: it'll just give me more time to obsessively watch the news. Unless the weather is good enough to go hiking, I guess?

My university sent out a "nothing's changing " email re: withholding, which suits me fine. They've actually been really sensible regarding a number of things, including navigating COVID. I'd rather be independently wealthy, but as I'm not, there are worse places to ride out 2020.
With you on that. Luckily, everyone above me in my company is being great about the pandemic, and the only COVID denier has zero power over me and now works a 45-minute drive away.
Congrats on the job, Gud!
Congrats Shir!
