Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

I'm very sorry, Trudy.

In COVID news here, the University where I work has been open for a couple of weeks now and intended for classes to be a mix of in-person and online students. Apparently they wanted 25-50% to attend in-person and the rest, either because of health concerns or to make social distancing possible, to attend online. However, the students who were supposed to show up in-person are mostly just attending online. Frequently the attendance for the in-person class group is just a handful of people. Not sure if this will change over the course of the semester or what.

At the Libraries where I work, we now have people counters and signs that show occupancy levels. So far our occupancy levels have not been over 50%. We also have mask monitors who go around and remind the students to wear their masks and stay 6 feet away from each other. So far no serious push-back which kind of surprises me since this is Texas.

What a seriously strange year.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Thanks.

I'm blessed that my mother is incredibly cautious.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Trudy I'm so sorry for your loss.

Our wings are not tired.

Trudy, I am so sorry. So much of the pain and loss this past year could have been avoided. I alternate between heartbreak and anger. I'm sorry you have lost your aunt. May your mom and the rest of your family find comfort.

Chilly day in Otter Lake. It was in the 40s last night and won't get out of the 60s today. I'm hoping the cold doesn't scare my son off. I really am hoping he stays. His girlfriend really wants to stay. We found an apartment complex in town close to where he works. One bedroom nice place with dishwasher, disposal, community center in the complex and stuff. Hospital across on one side, so likely filled with heathcare types. Walk to fast food, grocery store, and everything else. $875 including ALL utilities, even cable and wifi. Rent is insanely cheap here compared to where we are in Florida. The best we could find for him there was a studio with no utilities included for $1000. It would be a fresh start for him. Digits crossed. He obviously has never dealt with snow before, hence wanting him in a complex that wouldn't require him learning about shoveling.
