I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I meant to have several italics in there, but you get me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I don't have an independent bookstore anywhere near me, so I buy mysteries from the mystery bookstore on the Eastern Shore, and other books from Powell's. Back when there were still meatspace conventions, I'd buy what I could from the book sellers there.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Good luck with the decision making, Gud.

I'm not a fan of mac and cheese, but Mac being cheesy is adorable.

Keeping any sort of regular schedule has been a challenge for me mostly due to migraines. I've either had two this week, or one that ebbed a bit while it switched sides of my head.

I never paid much attention before, but I now realize that my "normal" temperature is 97 to 97.5. Does that make me cool?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My Aunt Carol died last night.

She had been in the hospital with COVID and was released to a care facility. She was testing clear and getting stronger. Then last night she had a hemorrhage. The rushed her to the hospital, got the bleeding under control, sedated her, intubated her, were talking about various means of investigating the bleeding, other things started going wrong... and then she died.

My mother is shattered. She was supposed to visit her big sister in the end of March but the trip was cancelled. She was afraid they'd never see each other again and she was correct.

I went to work today because if I can't be on my way to my mother I might as well keep myself distracted and I knew today's sorting four months of mail project wouldn't take much brane.

Friends of mine are having a small outdoor wedding on Monday which I'm making myself go to. The carefully distanced pre-wedding events I'll play by ear. Again... if I can't be with my Mom...

We're not saying anything on social media yet because there are still relatives to reach.

It's a big family, it was almost impossible we would get through this unscathed.
