Oh yeah, hey Monday. What happened to the weekend? I did manage to go kayaking yesterday. First time this summer. Somewhat embarrassed to say it took me this long to figure out a workable plan to get in and out of the kayak in my pathetic physical condition. But I now have a workable plan so I feel comfortable going more often, maybe daily!
Good news in a tragic circumstance, David. They didn't need massive financial loss on top of the personal grief.
Mind whirling with the Kellyanne Conway news. I'm mostly angry with them for what the parents have done to their children. Sad to see a family ripped apart because of attention seeking insensitive parents. Thinking she still would have put herself first if she thought Trump was actually going to win and is using her significant family drama as an excuse to jump ship. Maybe too cynical and perhaps she and George really have gotten a clue and will do what it takes to repair the damage done. More likely we will see a family reality show on some cable channel soon.
I saw that the Conways' 15-year-old daughter is filing for emancipation. Sounds like they've pretty effectively burned that bridge.
And to add to the year's catastrophes, there are two hurricanes bearing down on the gulf coast AND an asteroid headed our way. It may not hit ... but that may be what the dinosaurs thought.
Sorry, David and JZ. I hope things work out as best they can.
Calli, that seems like a Bargain.
Dibs on the purple bathtub
I had not heard about the asteroid. That's exciting
This says it's small [link]
That treehouse, though!!!
ltc is fine, but she wouldn't stop crying and complaining about a stomach ache for a second day in a row yesterday. She was hysterical, and we couldn't calm her down, which is very unusual for our little girl to complain about anything. Her grandparents came by to drop off a gift for her, and she refused to go outside and see then, and She kept running to the bathroom every 5 minutes and nothing would happen. So, we took her to urgent care. It turns out she was just very constipated and gassy. They would only let one parent in the building with her, and while we were in there the car died. So, after finally seeing the doctor, getting an X-Ray to make sure it was nothing, we had to wait outside under and overhang in a huge storm for AAA to come and put in a new battery, which took about an hour. On the way home I couldn't get takeout from the first restaurant we tried because their electricity was out and the pharmacy was closed, presumably for the same reason. So, off to a second restaurant and a second pharmacy. We finally got Chinese take-out and ltc's medication. We decided it was eat in front of the TV night because by then we were all stressed and cranky, but the wifi was out. Muppet Show DVDs came to the rescue, and we ate our Chinese food and gave ltc her medication. It was quite a day!
ugh sj - too much. hope she gets some relief today.
