I just suggested to an incoming college freshman that if they can just refrain from all jamming into one room to lick each other for a week, things will probably be OK.
Toddlers and college students, the two populations most likely to have their tongues in places they probably should not.

Laura, most noise cancelling head phones (or all Iv'e been able to research) don't block out voices. The idea is that they block out or reduce super loud noises but still allow you to hear. So the ones I've had even if I can't exactly h ear someone talking or the tv it's ...muffled but a lot clearer since there aren't any other sounds.
I do have some noise reducing ear muff things I can wear but it doesn't really help the way I want and they aren't very comfortable for certain things.
And it only took less than a day for the sniping at each other to start.
