There's no more risk to me going voting than there is going to my local cafe.
And I can hit my polling place at 10:45 when I miss the early birds and avoid the lunchtime voters.

I think we could see shooting.
If Chump splits town and holes-up somewhere (that won't extradite him) insisting he's the legitimate president in exile...
There are plenty of overly-armed jackholes who will see this as their big moment. They're ultimately no match for the U.S military, but a lot of people could get hurt.
My polling place is good for this situation already, since when there is a line, it is always mostly outside anyway, and there's plenty of room in the school gym where we actually vote. My city has moved a couple of polling places this year so people aren't jammed together in close quarters. But we'll see how many people actually vote in person.
I have already requested a mail in ballot, but Baltimore was already not great about getting them out in a timely manner.
Our state primary is Sept 1, and my ballot apparently went in the mail on Friday.
There's also early in-person voting here as well, which should help keep the crowds down.
South Carolina doesn't have early voting but they waived the requirements for absentee voting. At this point, working in retail, I figure in person voting is about as risky as going to work.
I'm still not registered to vote in SC, that will happen Tuesday when I finally get my car registered and my SC license.
Oh cool, you get to vote against Lindsey Graham! We don't have any Senate races this year. I'll likely vote in person, either early or on election day depending on when I get back to Florida. The lines are generally long both early and election day, but I don't have an issue with queueing.

And that race is surprisingly close!
The number of people in this country that seem to be perpetually waiting for an excuse to shoot people is absolutely demoralizing. You've got organized groups like the various militias and the Boogaloo Boys and then you've got all the normal gun nuts on top of it.
Shit is seriously making me wonder if I should be looking for another country to move my family to (and part of me wonders if anywhere would actually be safe if the USA went full dictatorship while the ruler was in Russia's pocket.)
