She always seemed like the obvious pick, but I'm still really happy to see it. Warren has always my favorite in the primaries, but I think Kamala is the better veep pick.
This is exactly how I feel, Gud. I even phone banked for Warren during the primary.
I'm seeing some butthurt Warren supporters on Twitter, but most of them are being grownups. I don't know how they thought she would usher in leftie Dem utopia as VP when Biden ran on being not extreme.
Besides, I don't understand how people thought two white, septuagenarians from small East Coast states were going to ignite the country.
I hope she gets a great cabinet post, or (in my fantasies) unseats the turtle as Senate Majority Leader, but I'm happy with Harris.
In fact, while I would not have been sad if Biden picked Warren, the Kamala Harris announcement has left me feeling legitimately happy and hopeful. I think had he picked Warren, I'd be (more) worried.
Oh sj! I'm sorry. I hope ltc just had too many goodies and is feeling fine tomorrow.
Thanks, Cindy! At this time it's hard not to immediately panic.
For any worried about the ticket being too moderate. Harris has been more progressive in the Senate than Warren or Sanders. [link]
I would be happy to see Warren as Commerce Secretary.
Poor ltc. So much excitement.
That's very interesting, msbelle.

This. I don't see Warren significantly expanding Biden's efforts to get minority voters to the polls, for example, whereas I think Harris will do that well. I think she'll make an excellent running mate, and I've been hoping she would be the choice.
It seems kinda freaky that 1 out of every 2000 Americans have died from COVID-19 now.
I'm very happy with the Harris pick as I liked her for the Dem nom originally and wanted her or Duckworth for running mate once Biden's short list came out. I think she's a perfect counter-balance to "Old Uncle Joe."
Trump, of course, is blasting her on Twitter and the writer Jim Wright commented that maybe he should try being nicer to the woman who will likely be heading up the investigation into his administration in 2021.
Sisters are doing it for themselves.
And indeed to themselves.
I'm very happy with the Kamala Harris pick. She was definitely one of my favourites during the primaries. Politically speaking I think she's a smaller target than either Rice or Warren.
Incidentally, I just finished a work meeting with external consultants. One suggested that you could well see President Harris before 2024. (I think such concerns about Biden's stamina and/or health are overblown, but there you go.)
