It seems kinda freaky that 1 out of every 2000 Americans have died from COVID-19 now.

I'm very happy with the Harris pick as I liked her for the Dem nom originally and wanted her or Duckworth for running mate once Biden's short list came out. I think she's a perfect counter-balance to "Old Uncle Joe."
Trump, of course, is blasting her on Twitter and the writer Jim Wright commented that maybe he should try being nicer to the woman who will likely be heading up the investigation into his administration in 2021.
Sisters are doing it for themselves.
And indeed to themselves.
I'm very happy with the Kamala Harris pick. She was definitely one of my favourites during the primaries. Politically speaking I think she's a smaller target than either Rice or Warren.
Incidentally, I just finished a work meeting with external consultants. One suggested that you could well see President Harris before 2024. (I think such concerns about Biden's stamina and/or health are overblown, but there you go.)

I still think Trump is likely to win.
Things were extra exciting for a few minutes yesterday afternoon. [link] I could hear the classic freight train sound of the Rogers Park one (#7).
and Woohoo! Kamala!
One of the good things about her is that a lot of the attacks on her were already launched during her presidential campaign, so they will have less steam.
I have to dig out my nasty woman t-shirt.
I still think Trump is likely to win.
I disagree. Every single day he does things that cost him votes, but nothing to gain votes. There are his hard core, but he has lost a lot of seniors, all the youth, and many of the women. Of course voter suppression and fraud remain a real concern. If people vote, which is always a challenge, then he really doesn't have enough support to get enough states.
This morning, I've already heard a Republican strategist (I guess?) talking about how she was so liberal as a prosecutor, which seems like really the wrong line of attack, since there's a decent-sized criticism from the left about her record there... But really I think people will remember pretty quickly that the VP doesn't actually matter that much.
With the way things tighten up as the election gets closer and a likely DOJ investigation of Biden coming up and voter suppression efforts, I think things will be close enough that it come down to slim margins in a few states and the election will be decided in the courts and that will favor Trump. I don't think he has a chance of getting more votes, though.
I just got to finish up filing work on one of my favorite names thus far: Lola Ojo-Filani
