FYI Meara, my Lily Bean had a long Bite Everyone All The Time stage in her kittenhood. I had bleeding punctures on my arms. She would throw herself at Sophie and Pearlie and bite, bite, bite. Not a good way to make friends. It's a baby thing and it will pass. Teach bite inhibition by shrieking dramatically and running away if it hurts. That will spoil the game and make an impression that sticks. Eventually.
Lily still loves to bite us but is very gentle. So one of her auxiliary names is Finger Taster.

meara, if you let out a yelp (like another dog would if hurt) it will help the puppy learn that you are not a chew toy. Like a human baby, that is how puppy is learning about the world.
