I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

Our wings are not tired.

Sucks. Choice is bringing her home for a day so boys can say bye or let her go now. Advanced lung cancer. Seems cruel to let her continue.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, Laura. I'm so sorry

And now a ray of hope! Now vet says could be just cardiac or could be cancer and cardiac. But worth giving her drugs to get fluids down and see what the tests say. So she goes home tonight.

The emotional roller coaster!

So sorry Laura. That is so hard, and I know how much you adore Zoe.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Gud, I'm so sorry.

Fingers crossed, Laura.

msbelle, do you want to figure out how to import me for a week or so for me to put Mac through an intensive course of as your gothic auntie you've never met, I'm here to explain why you need to stop being a fuck-up" ? No idea if it would work, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Our wings are not tired.

Finally home at 2 something AM. With dog. I gave her some chopped up turkey and gravy and heart meds, and she ate them. Got a zillion tests to get results on. Digits crossed.

Our wings are not tired.

Mac, Mac, Mac. Need to send you and my eldest off to get a clue school!

Yawn. Up. Gave dog her diuretics and other meds in a gravy filled bowl of food, but no interest in eating it yet. She has gone outside 3 times already. Yay for weather that allows me to just leave the back door to the yard open for her.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thanks, everyone.

Gud, I'm so sorry for the loss of your wonderful doggie.

Laura, hoping for the best outcome for sweet Zoe.

mac, no! wtf young man. Bad decision.

meara, quit falling down. That's my advice. Things are much better when we don't fall down.

Speaking of which, I'm watching one of those candid-video "People Falling Down" episodes and wondering how the human species has survived so long. I also wonder how all these people can fall off moving vehicles and buildings and *checks screen* Porta-Potties and be *fine* and I broke my ankle tripping over a piece of wood.

Kids! Parents! Pets! Maybe there is something to be said for the hermit life.

Mo' creatures, mo' problems.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't say it better than Zen:

My computer at home is really crapping out -- several letters aren't working, shift and enter are both iffy -- so I emergency-ordered a Black Friday special. I basically got the cheapest one with any storage in it, because did you know cheap laptops now have as much of a hard drive as my phone?? (OK, more than my phone, but that's because I have a cheaper phone, too.) I know "everything is streaming/in the cloud" now, but what am I supposed to do with my music? I got rid of the CDs, so now it lives in my computer. Changing technology is annoying.
