"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, meara. It was not supposed to rain today, but it looks very ominous.

Our wings are not tired.

Go away rain ~ma.

The pancake breakfast ended up being sit down in the firehouse so I didn't get any. My sister isn't ready to eat inside anywhere, even a wide open firehouse, and my son and gf are still sleeping and turned down the option. I don't really need or want pancakes enough to go by myself. Also eggs, sausage, and drinks, but I'll wait for the next fund raiser. I'll buy extra raffle tickets for the truck they raffle off each year.

I ordered the cake, the decorations, planned the menu, and ordered all the ingredients from the market. TCG puts everything outside and ltc is running around singing daddy is the best to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell.

Yeah, that is how it goes, sj. With me and the boys it was all daddy for years when they were doing sports. Now they are back to Mommy's boys. And really I wish it were back the other way again!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S is definitely daddy's boy. There are times when I think "What am I, chopped liver?' , but what can you do?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Welcome, Judah! Congrats to the family!

erin_o, glad your mom has finally agreed to take a painkiller, and that it worked for her. Being a caregiver is super hard even in the best of circumstances.

Congrats on Rory acquisition, meara, he's adorable!

Sophia, I'm sorry about your friend. He sounds like a wonderful person.

I hope we all make it through this pandemic intact.

I bought a bunch of dresses from Svaha and they're cute and comfy and have pockets, which is what I wanted, but I'm still losing weight and soon they'll be too big. Some of them are almost too big already. They'll be great for the Zoom conference lifestyle though. Loose dress with pockets, long-leg silky underwear, and a soft cotton bra - why did I ever wear uncomfortable clothes?

Buffista ~ma is powerful. We ended up having a gorgeous afternoon for ltc's party. The clouds went away, and there was no rain.

ltc has always been daddy's girl. I usually don't let it get to me, but it does occasionally suck when all the emotional labor, planning etc is discounted.

Sophia, I'm so sorry for your loss.

erin-o, tons of recovery~ma for your mom and ~ma for you as well. Caregiving is exhausting, especially when the patient is stubborn.

The best part of a party, is the leftovers for the rest of the week. I'm having strata for breakfast.

Omg. I am exhausted. Last night went way better, but still! And puppy was like "ok it's 7am time to be awake and play! But only if I'm touching you otherwise I will just bark my head off!"

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad the birthday party went well, sj.

I'm watching Agrippina from the Met. It's streaming for free until ~6 tonight, probably EDT, if anyone else is interested.
