Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

yeah, I've pointed this out - neither she nor the rest of her team share information ... to the point that they'll send out a mass email about something but never (1) include staff in the mailing or (2) send a notice about it. I've pointed out that doing either would keep us from being embarrassed by someone calling to ask about something and have the staff person respond with "huh?" ... but what do I know?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, so communications with the public (or customers or whatever) is their job, communicating with YOU must be someone else's job

That mythological staff member, "someone else"

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats, Laura and family!

I have what might amount to a whole days worth of that really should be done today.

::cries::

Well, at least I can stop entirely and have some lunch. Then maybe the pile won't look so big.

Our wings are not tired.

Work sucks and we all deserve to live lives of leisure next time around.

And speaking of life sucking, damn the reports out of Beirut look horrible.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Meanwhile, I'm following reports of wind damage coming up the coast towards MA -- my friends in CT have trees down, and there was a microburst two towns over from here when a small band of rain/wind hit us.

The sun is strongly shining right now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We have darkness and wind here, Theo.

Our wings are not tired.

One of my friends in NYC posted a picture of a downed tree in front of her place. Be safe all! We just have had a bunch of rain all day. Which means the dog won't go outside.

So, I just realized my new nephew shares his birthday with President Obama. That is most excellent.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I had over 5 inches, streams going through the basement. The sump pump took care of it, but I also put down things to sop it up and I ran the wet vac full 4 times when it was coming down the hardest and half full again once it stopped.

I just went out and did some moving of mud from the trench. It settled in places and is still piled up in other places. Easy to stomp down and move around with a shovel when wet. Then I bailed out about 7 gallons from the hole they left where I need to replace a plastic drain pipe and distributed that water to trees on the other side of the yard. The hole is still full of water, but the small lake at the base of my driveway (which feeds to this hole) is mostly gone.

Forecast is for more rain Thursday and Friday, so I would like to replace this drain pipe and/or clean out my gutters before then.
