I feel sorry for Cain and his family, like so many people he fell down the right-wing propaganda hole and it cost him his life.

I don't think there will be any sort of economic recovery before the election (would love to be wrong about that), but there could easily be a month where the jobs report sounds good even if it doesn't mean much. Same thing with the stock market; it could go on a little bull run that doesn't mean much but sounds good.

I also worry that with the prohibition on placing 'ballot security' people at polling locations lifted that voter suppression will be a bigger factor in this election.

At my company, we have a few people working in the office with lots of safety measures, but it's strictly voluntary and most of us are remote for an indefinite amount of time.

Just had a first interview with a company for a full-time remote position, but I doubt it will lead to a job offer. The skill set match doesn't seem strong enough. Still, they contacted me based my Linked-In profile and it isn't like I misrepresent myself there.

Gud, how are you doing?

I'm doing okay. Thanks.

Our wings are not tired.

I've worked from home for many years, but my son goes out every day now. They do check his temperature as he goes in the building and masks are required, although if he is working by himself he can take it off.

Watching the Lewis funeral on delay. Good that Trump isn't there stinking up the place.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Do you want a new job, Gud? And hi!!

Matilda and Peanut are splatter painting outside - I sacrificed a few old work shirts to the cause, since I'll not be returning to bartending if I have any say about it.

I'm afraid of the October Surprise the people in power will rig this year.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've been coming in to the office every day from the start. I've been the only one here, so I don't usually wear a mask (I put mine on when there is someone else here or I go out). I don't like wearing a mask, but if it helps keep one person healthier, then it's a minimal hassle.

In DC they opened the zoo last Friday ... I believe they're limiting the number of people who can go in and some areas are closed. They do require masks - the lion sculptures at the entrance have masks on, I guess to emphasize the message.

In terms of money spent Halloween is second only to Christmas and it's been gaining on Christmas every year for more than a decade now. With everything that is happening, that won't be the case this year. The economy will feel that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hi. I've been lurking because all of my "talk to people" energy is being sapped up by my job. Phone/video meetings are so fucking draining.

Anyway, I miss talking to you all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That makes sense, Noise. That'll be bad all right.

Miss you too, Jess!

Aw, M and Peanut splatter painting is happy making. I am glad to hear you are thinking about what you'll be doin (or not doing) After, juliana.
