My parents had a dog named Sterling and then my cousin married a guy named Sterling. That seemed like an unusual name for a person to me.

Once, long ago, I ran into a guy with a couple of tiny dogs. I don't remember if they were Yorkies or some other kind of terrier or Chihuahuas, but you get the idea. And they were tugging or something so he said, "Widget! Gizmo! Stop it!"
I know a family whose first born was given the name of their family pets/horse. All the same name. Not sure if that held out for all future pets, but I think they had a second child and it was not named the same.
