Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

Herding cats for fun

We had a wonderful day of Cat TV at the bedroom window. I put up privacy film, which is shiny and reflective from outside. Birds flock to peck at my peaches, which is pretty exciting for the cats. Today a downy juvenile became enraptured by its own reflection and spent the day clinging to the window frame by one foot and flapping its wings and tapping on the glass. Refused to quit. Came back again and again. Lily Bean had the most excited day of leaping at the window, chattering and lashing her tail. Fun for us too!

Our wings are not tired

Thankfully we have pretty straightforward testing here in Los Angeles. There is a website to go to for an appointment, and then you get a list of times at drive through sites, pick one, turn up and do the test. I go to get a test every two weeks now, my last result came in 24 hours, the others have all been less than 48 hours. No charge on these tests.

Our wings are not tired.

That is the way it is up here too, ND. I went on line, there was an appointment the next day. Drove up to the Rx window at the drug store, swabbed my own brain stem, and got the results via email. Free. No lines or waiting. My sister got her results the next day, but mine took 4. I expect it varies depending on the lab backup. I'm glad the first test I had was via a professional so I could be sure I was swabbing correctly. But DIY is fine going forward.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh no Dana, that is not right. BOO! I order you a NAP, post haste.

I mowed the front lawn BEFORE work! I am not sure where my productivity is coming from, but I'LL TAKE IT. If my anxiety were low that would fit a pattern I've had previously of increased productivity and nesting (which often means organizing for me) when anxiety lifted, but my anxiety is still high (woke up this morning with one fist clinched so tight it is still sore almost 2 hours later).

Gonna try to schedule a second tele-counseling appt this week. Didn't really click with the lady I had last week, so will try someone else.

Happy to be working from home this week, it's gonna be hot hot hot.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm waiting for the crash, which hasn't happened yet. Fortunately, there's very little I have to do today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy to be working from home this week, it's gonna be hot hot hot.

I wish I were going to the office for similar reasons. I could be in the air-conditioned bedroom some, but not for meetings, which is most of my day. Good times.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, Dana.

ltc and I did a clean up of the living room so that the therapist won't see chaos in the background. My other goals for the day is to do a couple loads of laundry and fill up a paper shopping bag with papers to be recycled. It's about half filled so far.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm probably too late on this, but the therapist has seen worse and won't judge, so if tidying to make a good impression is adding to your stress, you don't need to do it.

The AC in my house is doing its best, but 3 days in a row of 90+ degree weather is taking a toll. I'm filling up the pool in the backyard now.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Around here, 90+ F temperatures are pretty typical for July and August, so my building and AC are set up for it. The AC's running more often than not, though. My summer power bills are always worse than my winter ones.
