This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Dad~ma, shrift. If it helps, my grandfather had prostate cancer for years, and it wasn't what caught him in the end.

Yay, Camry, Laura! I hope it works out for your son.

I bought an Impreza based on my niece-in-law's experience, but I can't report back on reliability because I haven't driven it half the time I've owned it. Due to COVID. I mean, yay WfH, and it looks nice in the parking lot. But it's getting a really inaccurate impression of its car-ish duties as part of my wee household.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

shrift, my dad had prostate cancer in his early 80s and it was treated with targeted radiation (focused on three gold pellets they placed) and it seemed to do the job. So best wishes for your dad, I hope the news is hopeful.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Chiming in with Dad~ma, shrift, and also with the knowledge that this can be beaten. My own Dad went through it several years ago and he's still trucking along.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I so want sweet potato fries right now! I'm on an airplane right now AIINFG. Lady behind me keeps coughing. It's probably allergies or just age...but...my mom paid big bucks to put me in first class ostensibly in front of a bulkhead but there is no actually physical divider. Just a mesh curtain that's tucked up behind the seat next to me. Also, cross country flight and no food being served. My mom kept insisting there would be a meal in first class...but I'm glad I packed a sandwich and multiple snacks. Nothing sweet potato fry level of goodness, but acceptable.

Latest episode of judge John Hodgman podcast is totally Buffy-centric and Jane Espenson is a guest host! It's not amazing from a Buffistas perspective, but if you like John hodgeman it's a good episode.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Also chiming in that my Dad (70s) went through the prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment over the last couple of years. Super targeted radiation treatment after an outpatient surgery to place the target beads, he suffered far more from an angioplasty 6 months later, for that sample size of one.

Our wings are not tired.

Not fun, e_o! I was annoyed when I selected hotels for my travel with breakfast and pool only to find that neither food or pools were open. Granted, that should have occurred to me, but I paid for that stuff!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I was just daydreaming about a local hotel for a staycation/airconditioning break, and then I realized how much of the good stuff at a hotel is not available now.

Jesse do you not have air conditioning?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My FIL had prostate cancer too, many years ago. I think the treatment of it is very successful these days.
