"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Chiming in with Dad~ma, shrift, and also with the knowledge that this can be beaten. My own Dad went through it several years ago and he's still trucking along.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I so want sweet potato fries right now! I'm on an airplane right now AIINFG. Lady behind me keeps coughing. It's probably allergies or just age...but...my mom paid big bucks to put me in first class ostensibly in front of a bulkhead but there is no actually physical divider. Just a mesh curtain that's tucked up behind the seat next to me. Also, cross country flight and no food being served. My mom kept insisting there would be a meal in first class...but I'm glad I packed a sandwich and multiple snacks. Nothing sweet potato fry level of goodness, but acceptable.

Latest episode of judge John Hodgman podcast is totally Buffy-centric and Jane Espenson is a guest host! It's not amazing from a Buffistas perspective, but if you like John hodgeman it's a good episode.

Also chiming in that my Dad (70s) went through the prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment over the last couple of years. Super targeted radiation treatment after an outpatient surgery to place the target beads, he suffered far more from an angioplasty 6 months later, for that sample size of one.

Our wings are not tired.

Not fun, e_o! I was annoyed when I selected hotels for my travel with breakfast and pool only to find that neither food or pools were open. Granted, that should have occurred to me, but I paid for that stuff!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I was just daydreaming about a local hotel for a staycation/airconditioning break, and then I realized how much of the good stuff at a hotel is not available now.

Jesse do you not have air conditioning?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My FIL had prostate cancer too, many years ago. I think the treatment of it is very successful these days.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Health~ma for your Dad, shrift. And may all your meetings be brief.

I'm still waiting to hear if the shop figured out why my car was making that noise. I hope they don't charge me for overnight storage.

The shop would charge for overnight storage if they haven't figured it out?!? That seems like incentive for them to take their time!!

Also randomly: a friend decided to do a half day of getting stuff done, so she could hike the other half. I misread it as "get stuff half done" and was like "sure, that's cool, I can tell myself I don't have to finish, and then when I manage to pick it up again it'll already be half done!" Lol
