"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I'm still on the loose. Or not so loose, really, since I'm busy with WFH.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a question! Since I have Disney+ for Hamilton, should I watch the Mandalorian? I do not care about Star Wars although I have seen most of the movies.

You're spoiled for who shows up at the end of the first episode, right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was wondering the same thing, Jesse! I am also thinking of watching the movies I haven't seen- started watching Solo but didn't have the attention span for it at the time, may try again. I figure I should watch the latest one, Rise of Skywalker?

I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan, but even then I still passed on watching Rise of Skywalker. By all accounts it sucks pretty hard.

Herding cats for fun

I really enjoyed The Mandalorian. It has a spare storytelling style that is refreshing after seeing the screen overpacked with whizzing space ships during the second trilogy. The music is haunting and evocative and the emotional payoff satisfying. Plus the cuteness of Baby Yoda was nice. I thought it was worth my while.

How can I know how much to hate it if I don't watch it? Honestly, it never occurred to me that passing on it entirely was an option. Watching it is a very low priority, though.

Speaking of streaming services, I signed up for Peacock, which was actually free, so I could watch the second Psych movie (pretty good in the sense that I enjoyed hanging out with those characters again) and tried watching the 30 Rock special. I got 10 minutes into it and realized it was an hour long rather than the 22 minutes I expected. I don't know that I want that kind of commitment.

The star of the show and only character as far as I can see from gifs?? Yes.

I watched Rise of Skywalker... sort of. It did not hold my attention.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Y'know, when somebody insists on having 1:1 meetings at a frequency that you find unnecessary, it's extra irksome when they then don't show up.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

FWIW, I liked Solo. Especially Phoebe Waller-Bridges' character.

I got out the door early to do my run, which usually messes up my morning meal which I try to push as close to noon as possible (11:30 is typical). But through the power of Extra Coffee and a quick jaunt to Whole Foods I was able to finesse it.

It's gray, cold and foggy here today as is common in a San Francisco July, but Matilda still has plans to picnic with her friend Amelia. So I got them hummus and pita and watermelon chunks and goat cheese and crudities which Matilda neatly packed up into her wicker basket which would tempt but then disappoint Yogi Bear.
