Hey, don't worry about it. Nest full of vampires, you come get me, okay. Box full of puppies, that's more of a judgement call.

Huzzah for son employment!

I *think* I figured out how to forward calls from my extension to my cell phone. Ooh, and I think I just realized how to test that it's working. And now I'm filled with ambivalence about actually doing that....hmmm

Skipped and skimmed to get here

Yay employed son!

And ugh, David. This is terrible. I'm sorry.

they announced last night that they're adding two more paid holidays in July and August so employees can have a break without using PTO.

Funny, yesterday at work the PTB just announced that they're taking away the usual 2 extra off days they're giving to workers during July and August. But if that prevents layoffs, I'm for it.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Oh, David, what the actual hell?

msbelle, I'm glad your folks finally got an offer.

Laura, hooray! May it go well for him.

Shir, I'm still sorry about your time off going away.

Five minutes into my online yoga class yesterday, Jim came out and looked in and I burst into tears. He very sweetly flipped the camera cover shut and hugged me; I wound up dropping the instructor a private note and bailing. He'd been really sick for two days, I know better than to try and do a class on so little sleep - I just wanted something close to normal, you know?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Askye, sorry to hear about the bunnies.

At least they passed fed and comfortable instead of starving and in terror. You did a lot for them.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Fashion question: if you are, say, Emily Gilmore, does your mask match your shoes, belt, and handbag, or does it match your dress?

I am planning to treat it as a scarf if/when I go back to work.

Oh, that sounds like a good approach.

Just in case that made someone wonder- I meant back to the building. I am working now more than ever since we had both furloughs and hiring freezes, I was already doing two roles, and both roles were really increased by COVID-19.

When I go back the 29th, it will be in the Medical Center, and I will have to wear a surgical grade mask, which will be FUN for 10 hours, but I will do it.

~ma, amyparker. It is difficult.

askye, I'm too sorry about the bunnies. I am still at wonder that you have bunnies out there (we have different wildlife here. Mostly cats, porcupines and Indian porcupines, some deer (though the last will stay away from humans), and jackals. Not a friendly bunny ecological system).

meara - Jul 10, 2020 9:46:18 am PDT #23457 of 30019

I don't know that I've ever seen a porcupine in the wild! Or a jackal for that matter, but porcupines are at least theoretically wild where I grew up.

I am v sad. Most of my clothes don't fit but my fave pair of shorts still did, and I've worn them a few times this summer....and noticed they have a frayed hole right at the bottom of the zipper. So, crotch area. Frayed, so hard to patch. Booooooo. I hate buying clothes without trying them on. But I may have to at this point!

Also, David that is ridiculaous.

askye- so sorry to hear about the bunnies. My cowrker spent several weeks protecting the baby bunnies in her yard from predators while Mama was away (she didn't disturb the nest, but she set up cameras and when the fox or the cats got close she would scare them away. It was very stressful for her.
