Our wings are not tired.

I've been avoiding carbs, but I'll have to sit back with popcorn to watch the show if they do convene outdoors in August. Of course, the senators are bright enough not to attend, but there are plenty of delegates who will be there. I have to believe they will either come to their senses, or that they won't convince a venue to cooperate.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm back in the office today for the first time since...March? It's weird. The temperature check device is pretty neat. Had to hunt down my chair which had migrated to an otherwise empty cube that was full of chairs for some reason.Spent the first half hour/45 minutes I was here clearing off surfaces like we were asked to do at the beginning of returning so my desktop is very bare which always freaks me out a little. Oh, and we get two black masks with our company logo on them in blue. Weird but nice I guess?

Now I have to actually work, boo. Wouldn't you think physically being present should be enough that this point?

BTW, I make no effort to co-ordinate my masks, I wear whichever one I lay my hand on first and it's usually the Vog mask with flowers and hummingbirds (although the hummingbirds are mostly hidden by seams and the valve but I know they are there...) but I'm very curious about what other people do or think should be done.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Brain dump -

Texas cancelled the State Fair and Texas GOP cancelled the state Rep convention.

My parents' signed a contract on their home. It has been on the market since March. Lower than asking price, but more than the first low-ball offer, so given the current economic climate, we all feel good about it.

9:15 meeting at work, my only standing meeting was cancelled and no one told me. Whateves. I went to the office 2 days this week and did a ton of work, so everything in me wants to have a lazy day.

Tomorrow is first Farmer's Market in 2 weeks for me! (Quarantining after the TX trip). I am very excite and may buy all the berries that they have.

Ooh, it's air conditioned here, I forgot! Mmm, comfortable temperature.

information libertarian

For those following my work ac saga, it is a normal indoor temperature at work today! I actually put on my ac cardigan earlier when it was only 70!

That's gotta be a relief, flea! I would've lost my marbles long ago. How many days do you have left?

I am just glad it is Friday.

Our wings are not tired.

My son is now gainfully employed. Starts Monday at a warehouse job. We're off to get him drug tested now, which will be fine. Check one item off the list.

Huzzah for son employment!

I *think* I figured out how to forward calls from my extension to my cell phone. Ooh, and I think I just realized how to test that it's working. And now I'm filled with ambivalence about actually doing that....hmmm

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Skipped and skimmed to get here

Yay employed son!

And ugh, David. This is terrible. I'm sorry.

they announced last night that they're adding two more paid holidays in July and August so employees can have a break without using PTO.

Funny, yesterday at work the PTB just announced that they're taking away the usual 2 extra off days they're giving to workers during July and August. But if that prevents layoffs, I'm for it.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Oh, David, what the actual hell?

msbelle, I'm glad your folks finally got an offer.

Laura, hooray! May it go well for him.

Shir, I'm still sorry about your time off going away.

Five minutes into my online yoga class yesterday, Jim came out and looked in and I burst into tears. He very sweetly flipped the camera cover shut and hugged me; I wound up dropping the instructor a private note and bailing. He'd been really sick for two days, I know better than to try and do a class on so little sleep - I just wanted something close to normal, you know?
