I just made a hair appointment for this weekend, but now I'm wondering if I should wait a couple more weeks, because I assume after the students get back in August, everything will shut back down again pretty quickly. Because students are idiots.

I'm really struggling with being depressed and feeling trapped. Talked to M and he pointed out there is still the danger of me being laid off for whatever reason and so while moving would help our mental well being what happens if I get laid off? Which is valid.

On the other hand instead of using all the money I have saved to pay off CC debt in one fell swoop I've been paying off chunks of it every pay day. So I've been paying over the minimum payment (tryng for double) and then I'll pay an extra $100 or so on my next pay check. It seems to be a balance so I'm not living pay check to pay check like I was before and I am paying things down.

Consuela - I've been to the dentist and felt surprisingly safe - she was double masked, gowned, hair covered, and one of those plastic face covers. They has also gone back to the manual dental stuff - none of the water drills or what-not that could splash or spray. I was pleased with how they'd covered up. I was only there for a cleaning, so I've no idea what they would use for something more elaborate.

It's not like I work for a small business: we're part of the government and they have to know where I am. Also we have orders not to go more than 100 miles away without clearance.

We are on 75 miles. Of course we were also on lockdown this morning.

Our work cannot be done remotely so we're fully back with a revised layout and plan. Which is good because I am definitely safer and (work) happier how it is. I'd rather work from home because I could do maybe halftime here. But it's not an option. I'm worried we will hit the stage where we close up again because we won't get paid this time.

Anyone entering Australia is obliged to stay in hotel quarantine for 14 days. There was private security to maintain isolation. This is all a unique situation and I don't expect perfection or anything, but I'd think guards sleeping with people in quarantine would've been pretty clearly a dubious idea.

Isolated incidences sleeping with people in quarantine? That is not how you do it. It is not a trip to the market or restaurant or Walmart or office or happytown. . It's staying the hell away from other beings. That's it.

I'm well. It's been a weird time but things are overall good. Too interesting but overall good.

FWIW, there was a salon in Texas (I think) where two of the stylists were positive and handled more than 140 customers in a week, and there was no transmission to any of the customers.
