And, yeah, that is a bunch of bs, askye.

And you know, for once the driving force of my workday being trying to ensure that baking pans get to TJ Maxx and Homegoods and large quantities actually feels kind of like a societal good. People are gonna need these cookie sheets and loaf pans.
Lol, t, for sure!! Baking across the nation!
I'm not sure what to do with my time now. I was supposed to be out of town, and taking the afternoon off. Don't want to waste my PTO just to sit around and do nothing, but also don't want to work.

Any short projects that you could complete in part of your PTO? You could knock them out and then spend the rest of the time feeling a well-earned glow of righteousness and watching Tessa Thompson in Thor: Ragnorok or suchlike.
I am accruing a lot of PTO that was intended for use for vacation. Since I'm not going to Colorado to visit my brother's family, and not going to France, I might as well take the occasional morning off.
So that's what I've been doing for the last three months. Every 2-3 weeks I take a few hours off, or half a day, and go to the park with the dog, or do some baking or yard work, or whatever. Not work.
I'm trying to figure out when I'll get to see my parents and sister again. I'm thinking maybe Thanksgiving. I usually fly to NJ, but I'm not sure that I'll feel safe on a plane yet by then, so I'm considering driving. It's about a ten-hour drive, which is possible to do in one day, but I've never done it in one day before. I always stay overnight somewhere in Pennsylvania and split it into two days. But I don't know how safe hotels would be, either. I guess I can figure it out closer to then. And all of us could get tested before I go. And I could stay for a few weeks at least.
I am going next weekend to a family party that will be outside and I am happy to stay away from everyone, but what about going to the bathroom??
Supposedly using another person's single-use bathroom is pretty safe, actually, as long as everyone washes their hands. But personally I have been appreciating how Covid is forcing all of us to limit entertaining to 2 hours in order to avoid the issue!
Sitting around doing nothing is valuable, meara! But do ANYTHING besides working is my advice
I got my first post-Covid non-home haircut today and it was WONDERFUL. My head is no longer covered in frizzy split ends AND I got to talk to THREE PEOPLE in person outside my immediate family!

So jelly!
Today is JZ's dad's birthday and coming so soon after Father's Day it's been hard on her. Made more complicated by tomorrow being her birthday and she really just wants to hunker down and slide past it without notice.
He used to always tell her, "You're the best birthday present I ever got!" So it's all tangled up.
That said, Matilda and I will be making a cake.
