Business are required to mandate masks, but the guy and his kid in line in front of us at the store didn't have them, which is just fucking great with an elderly cashier and bagger. And the cashier had his mask pulled below his nose.

I'm kind of surprised by the number of people who don't wear masks. I understand the people who are running, bicycling, etc., but just walking around ... some people wear them but some don't. We've had distanced dining - restaurants setting up on the wide sidewalks (when it's not raining) which makes a certain amount of sense. But we're supposed to go to the next level, restaurants and non-essential stores opening up but with only 50% of the capacity occupied. I've been pretty isolated since the beginning, aside from going in to work, since I can't work from home. I am glad that public transit is gearing up - I can actually catch a bus home from near my office, which will get my commute back down.

Hec, you forgot the one thing he needs is to be protected from prosecution, which only happens so long as he's president. He's desperate to stay in office, not because he enjoys it, but because the incoming administration may well charge him with (at least) tax fraud. Probably also witness intimidation, self-dealing, obstruction of justice, and who knows what else. Plus he wants to protect his kids, who are even more vulnerable (although he can pardon them, I guess).

In regard to the Tulsa, um, thing, I heard some commentary on the radio this morning that the campaign organizers aren't THAT unhappy with the physical turnout - they were using it to harvest information about people they could go to for donations, etc. Of course, if large numbers of those requests came from K-Pop fans and such, I'd bet the information is either made-up or unusable.
