Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got some rhubarb in my produce box this week, and I was just about to make a cake out of it, but then I realized I don't have enough butter OR milk. So I guess I'm going to the grocery store today.

Punishingly Intricate

I have to figure out what to do with the rhubarb I got at the market yesterday!

Herding cats for fun

Augh! The water went off at 9 last night and is not in service this morning. No flushing, hand washing, dish washing, showering ... this is not convenient at all. I wonder if I should ask for rent relief for the day since I'm not getting the basic amenities I pay for.

I wouldn't try that unless at least one business day has passed without the building's maintenance responding to the problem.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have been very happy with my strawberry- rhubarb pies and I also made preserves. This is the pie recipe: [link]

Our wings are not tired.

Mmmm, rhubarb. My mom made the best strawberry rhubarb pie.

DH and I are low carb these days so he has been purchasing Enlightened ice cream bars that are like 1G carb. It is not hard packed ice cream from the ice cream shop, but they are quite creamy and tasty. No doubt 99% chemicals. I justify it with convincing myself the majority of my diet is super healthy. I mean it was a dessert after a dinner of broiled swordfish and sauteed zucchini spirals.

I'm battling with #1 son again. I think part of his issue is his jealousy over his younger brother. Yes, he is married, has fancy new cars, and just bought a house. And he works his ass off and has since he was a teenager. Of course he hasn't even mentioned his brother, but I know it is part of it.

What is even happening?

Cashmere, I'm so glad you tested negative.

It's been remarked around here that there's a HYUGE number of fireworks going off at night. My theory, seriously, is that drug dealers who are having trouble with their normal supply have branched out into the illegal boom-boom trade.

I think some of it may have to do with high school graduation season. Ceremonies have been split up, downsized, and even postponed due to COVID-19. Kids are getting their ya-yas out.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Managed to decide Father's Day was today, so have made all the calls and shipped the gifts a week early. Oh, well.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Just another one of those days. Mr. S is still in pajamas and has been wild most of the day.

Of course it probably doesn't help that he woke up around 7, because I made a fair amount of noise while trying to pill Nova.(and I later found the pill on the ground. Pilling the cat needs to be a two person job.)

Our wings are not tired.

Sorry, Sheryl. You and Gary need to have a day to be wild and in your pajamas all day! I know the whole lack of childcare situation has to be so hard on so many. I can't even imagine. Other than when the boys were nursing I was always able to take breaks. Once they were out of diapers they had at least half-days during the week at pre-school.
