The idea that being afraid of being sued leads anyone to do LESS to make things safer is fundamentally pretty wrong. Isn't it? We have really fucked up as a society.

Huh, we are a government building and we are requiring masks, an employee can appeal, and some buildings are requiring temp checks, and there is an app we are about to have to start using before entering another county building that asks questions about health, travel, exposure.
The app seems pretty useless since it is just self-reporting, but my guess is it will be used against someone if they lie and are found out.
Texas, of course, is merrily chugging along as our numbers go up and up. Plus, the orange idiot in charge is in town today, or is coming to town today.
Interestingly, also in Texas, everyone on campus - faculty, staff, students, and visitors - are required to wear masks. There is some appeal process, but otherwise required. What I don't know is whether they will enforce that "required". I'm sceptical.
Just had/am having an interesting work experience.
Part of my covid-19 document tracking nonsense is emailing every employee and their supervisor when the proposals for teleworking are completely approved. If I process several employees with the same supervisor in a day, I group the emails.
I just sent out an email to: Jacqueline, Kim, Tonya, and LaToya
I got an email back from Trina - saying please note my name change. Trina's last name is not the last name of any from the email I initially sent. In fact, the email I sent was not attached in the reply, so as a way to determine what the original name was so I can update my files I asked "what email are you replying to, so that I may update my spreadsheet" and Trina sent back, I am replying to the email sent to... lists ALL the name... about the telework proposal.
?!?!?!?!
I am emailing the supervisor for help. I have no idea.
There's still a sign up in our Kroger saying that people are required to wear masks, but ain't nobody enforcing that.
msbelle I think the only solution is to start calling everyone Trina, whether they were on the original group email or not.
Or change everyone's first names to Tino.
"Can you please confirm full name being changed from and full name changed to so I can make sure my records are correct"
-t, I thought about doing that, but I am hesitant to make someone dead name themselves if that is what is going on here. Also I know that they had to already have this discussion with TONS of people since I am not the official record keeper for HR, not the email person, nor their department person, nor the benefits person, nor the payroll person - all of which I would guess Trina had to deal with to get things updated.
I may reach out to our records people to see if they know, if the boss does not get back with me.
