Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'll get my turkey gravy fix on the dressing and bird, no worries. And when I make mashed spuds for dinner next week, there'll probably still be gravy left. The idea of frying mashed potatoes in butter is new to me, though. I'll have to make extra some time and try it.

Our wings are not tired.

She could not suppress her look of horror that we don't have potatoes.

There have been quite a number of years when we had rice and no potatoes. Usually some fabulously tasty rice casserole type recipe, but sometimes just rice. Turkey and rice are an excellent combo. There have also been years when I just bought the premade mashed potatoes for the sake of the potato lovers because I really just don't enjoy making them. Peeling potatoes, yuck.

I generally get LDB'd early in the season because I will listen to the holiday jazz station in the car. I won't look for the station until after Thanksgiving. The whole radio thing is different in the new car. I miss my Sirius, but I will acclimate.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

If you're singing LDB, then you're almost literally playing for the opposing side in the LDB game.

Our wings are not tired.

Fortunately there are no meetings, but it is already quite warm and light at 6:45 here. Part of the reason I have turned into an early bird.

Thinking of the Chicagoistas this morning. Reading the news updates, because television is Trump absorbed, and broken hearted for yet another tragedy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Who can say if it's dark here because the sun's not up yet or because it's still/again raining? The "good" news is that apparently it won't be raining on Thursday, but the high temperature will be 21. Fahrenheit.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is not enough degrees.

I had a conversation with a coworker yesterday where he was telling me about a restaurant that at first he called Rice and Noodles but then corrected himself to Rice Zoe Noodles, saying "why would you want both?" Which I took issue with.

The starch Thanksgiving needs more of is popcorn.

It is supposed to rain here Thursday (and tomorrow and Friday!) which is big picture good but makes the morning 5k less appealing.

OMG! I'll have to pull out the popcorn machine I got for Halloween. The family will love it, particularly my 4 yo nephew. Thanks! I never would have thought of that.
