Hey. New board.

I have been drinking a "Stress Relief" tea every night that has carob, ginger, cinnamon, a bit of stevia, and some other random herbs. Yogi Tea brand I think. It is lovely. The carob adds just enough chocolatey richness without actually being chocolate, kind of like the flavor you get from a good coffee or (not explicitly chocolate-based) porter. I like it for that.

If it relieves my stress, it is a drop in the bucket, but its good tea.

Sheryl - Using pill pockets works with one of my cats - she's VERY food oriented and basically inhales her pill pockets without even tasting the contents - but if Nova's not hungry due to kidney and thyroid disease, that's probably not going to work.

I second getting the meds compounded into something tasty if at all possible.

OK, that tea doesn't sound too bad, Gris. I'm still eyeing chrismg skeptically though. Snacking on carob chips?? But whyyyyy?

Hey. New board.

Tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday I have Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences all day.

10 minutes per parent, pre-booked, with 5 minute breaks between them.

My first one is at 6 am tomorrow morning because of time zone differences. I am not excited.

Also end of year grades were due 4 hours ago, which means I am finishing my grading now. Also not exciting.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I think carob is probably fine as its own thing, but as "just like chocolate" it is a hippy fail.

It's like frozen yogurt. Perfect tasty as itself, but it's not the same thing as, or a substitute for, ice cream.

information libertarian

I'm putting on my work badge and going to the building for the first time since March 18 today. To do some solo behind the scenes work.

Possibly as a result of the 2001 riots following the police killing of Timothy Thomas in Cincinnati, and the ensuing consent decree and community response, the cops have been mostly okay here. They tear gassed and arrested a bunch of people for pretty much no reason, but I haven't seen reports of anyone getting seriously hurt. And it's sad that that's the line for "mostly okay" - "nobody was maimed."
