We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Twitter says they have stopped forward progress on te Fire, hope that's accurate! I'm not going home until tomorrow morning regardless. Curfew for one thing, but mostly I'm just tired and don't want to.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just realized why the last few evenings seemed so quiet even with the intermittent sirens, distant helicopters, and fireworks (seriously, people?). I wasn't hearing the rattle of the train. It's not something I usually notice hearing unless the "doors closing" announcement carries really well, but I guess I do on a subconscious level.

A smallish group (200+ ?) of BLM protestors marched past while I was working on completing a series of safety training videos for work. Hazard Communication Awareness had to be paused for a while.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

-t, I hope the fire will be under control quickly. Stay safe.

msbelle, what everyone said. Things are really not normal.

Continued health~ma to Nova.

Look, I dated that guy. For YEARS.

Did I mention how much I love Debet lately? Because I do. (I blanked most of my 20s from memory after getting sick for two years because life was very different after recovery, but I clearly remember spending years of my life with these dudes online. I thought of them as my "liberal pets [in training]". Some of their emails are still rotting, unanswered, in my email).

Our wings are not tired.

Remember Tuesday morning when I said my great niece was admitted to the hospital to be induced, well as of this morning I finally have a great great niece. Can't believe my sister is a great grandmother! Anyway, little Paisley arrived via cesarean this morning. She is a really pretty and good sized at 7 lb 13 oz. Parents, grandparents, and others kinda exhausted.

eta: and she shares a birthday with Dana, so how cool is that?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

whew y'all.

having my first cry of the day.

the news. the pain in my friends' posts. my black friends are not doing well.

and then work. I just got an email about a 521 (and growing daily) line spreadsheet I have been building/keeping - that yesterday I was asked to add some info to (which involves going back through the 521 forms). OK - fine. The today a co-worker in another division of my department emails and says "my spreadsheet has the info they need". ??????? We've both been doing data entry off these forms? WTAF. I can not! people!

Yay baby!

Happy Dana day!

I can't find any official notice or report that the fire is out but NextDoor says only the street closest to the marsh is blocked off so I guess I will go home. It sounds like all the damage was on Maple St.
