Woe to the fucking wicked.

Hil, that makes sense (and is a lot like what I'm doing for my own masks for work). You might consider ties, rather than ear loops. I find them infinitely more secure and easier to wear for extended periods. I do a yard of ribbon per side, and it seems to work fine.

Wow, -t. That's...wow.

Parents need to check their damn phones, just as a general rule.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes all the way around!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I had been doing ties, and experimenting with elastic that goes behind the head. I hate the ear loops. I was concerned that the ties could get dangerous in a protest -- that they'd be difficult to get on and off quickly if needed, or that they could be a strangulation risk -- and the elastic behind the head seemed like a way to mitigate that somewhat, but I have a whole lot more bias tape than I do elastic (though I just ordered some more elastic), so I'm probably switching back to just doing ties.

-t, good lord!

I guess we're still under curfew after checking the news, although I haven't received the urgent alert X-TREME on my phone yet today like the past two days.

I was researching community bail funds to donate to and it looks like a lot of them aren't in our internal donation matching portal. I guess I will be dedicating some time to nominating all the ones that are eligible and missing!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

PG&E now says "my" outage is "equipment related" which I suppose could mean helicopter crash. The red blotch on the map is pretty big. But it doesn't seem like any of the excitement has started a fire so HOORAY.

PG&E also says power should be restored by 5:30 which I don't really believe but would be nice.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

At 12:56 AM last night there was a huge loud EMERGENCY ALERT sound going off in my study, so I leapt out of bed and scrambled over to find that my browser had been paused on an Xfinity stream show.. and that the weekly Test Of The Emergency Broadcast System plays on THAT.

I really didn't need that adrenaline rush right now -- it's not impossible with stuff so crazy that a huge fire or terrorist attack could be happening, and I certainly didn't expect to be woken up that way.

I was late to work, because I really truly needed the extra sleep after that.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

urgent alert X-TREME

Between flooding, curfews, and CTA suspending services I've had 7 or so of these in the past week and a half. They seem to hit my phone a minute or two before it gets to the smokers in front of my building.

Our wings are not tired.

I had near heart failure over my phone alert of the highway being closed while I was driving as it blasted through the car speakers. I thought it was a car issue at first.

~ma for kitty health, power, and tranquility all round.

ok - I attempted highlights. A medium color and a light color. I look a fool with aluminum every where and a plastic bag over my hair.
