Power's out. At least it's still relatively cool in my bedroom with the shades drawn, and I don't lose water.

With the mask pattern I've been using, I can make about six masks a day, maybe 12 if I really work at it. But I can make simpler masks (no filter pocket, no nose wire, not being super careful about the measurements) a lot more quickly, and I'm thinking I might just make as many of those as I can for the protesters. I'll put in a lightweight interfacing layer for some extra filtration.
Power-ma, -t!
I am dying my hair, Nothing exciting, just brown. Hoping to match my natural color and cover up the green hued area showing up where it had been bleached. I bought 2 lighter shades with the idea of doing some highlights after this base tone is set. Not sure how well I will be able to do that, but might give it a go.
So last Friday (maybe??) I watched something on television called Haircut Night in America, and it was super ridiculous and yet also entertaining. But anyway, anyone who did color (including Jerry O'Connell touching up Rebecca Romijn) did it pretty basic.
Oh good lord, a helicopter crash has caused a large scale power outage in my area. PG&E says my outage is "cause unknown", so not sure if I am in that or not, but yikes.
My mother's landline is out, and she oesn't turn on her cell phone. WTF mom????
Yikes, t!
I haven't heard that we have another curfew, but Trader Joe's was closed again today, even though they were open yesterday? Oy.
Hil, that makes sense (and is a lot like what I'm doing for my own masks for work). You might consider ties, rather than ear loops. I find them infinitely more secure and easier to wear for extended periods. I do a yard of ribbon per side, and it seems to work fine.
Wow, -t. That's...wow.
Parents need to check their damn phones, just as a general rule.
Yikes all the way around!
I think the hair dye is darker than my normal hair. boo.

I had been doing ties, and experimenting with elastic that goes behind the head. I hate the ear loops. I was concerned that the ties could get dangerous in a protest -- that they'd be difficult to get on and off quickly if needed, or that they could be a strangulation risk -- and the elastic behind the head seemed like a way to mitigate that somewhat, but I have a whole lot more bias tape than I do elastic (though I just ordered some more elastic), so I'm probably switching back to just doing ties.
