Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I love cicadas.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

That map doesn't even include my end of the country. Which explains why, when we got a couple of them a couple years ago, I didn't have a clue WTF was making that NOISE.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't think I've ever experienced cicadas? I'm probably imagining them entirely wrong

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The sound of cicadas is the sound of a hot New England summer for me. I was probably well into my teens before I realized what the sound actually was: I think I thought it had to do with the powerlines.

No cicadas here, which I don't mind, but I do miss fireflies.

I am blowing off going biking with my sister and considering going to BevMo...

Our wings are not tired

Cicada map, if you want to know exactly when/where:

Wow, so that must mean the DCF2F was 17 years ago.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I was thinking the same thing, because I remember us talking about them at Anne W's house, but now that I do the math, it was only sixteen years ago (2004), right?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The thingy was saying that next year is the target year, but this is the early birds, so next year will be the big year, I guess?

What is even happening?

Embarrassing scenario: say you get scratched on your bare leg by a piece of old metal (kind of like thick wire, like you'd make a trellis with). It's definitely a scratch, not a puncture, but it's about 4 inches long and drew blood.

Do you go get a tetanus shot or not?

Teppy, you are the person I would ask this. No one is respecting their roles.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

All of this make me wonder if I'm due for a tetanus booster or not. I might have gotten one a couple of years ago with a flu shot? That sounds right.

Anyway, I guess I'll try to avoid rusty nails.
