Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

And I have been waiting patiently for these to go on sale

Love the color!

the doc said I don't need to come back again unless there's something wrong! Yay!

Yay indeed!

I just heard from my manager. We definitely won't be back in the next three months, and probably not then.

I'd like to ask how UPS could have "missed me" given I haven't left my apartment except to take out the recycling after the UPS driver already came and went.

I guess it's weirdly comforting to know that the same UPS shenanigans continue even in these uncertain times.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got my stitches out! And the doc said I don't need to come back again unless there's something wrong! Yay!

Yay! How are you feeling?

Inspired by Lisa, and the email I got about approaching the max leave time, I am taking next Friday off. I've been taking almost every other Friday off, and I think I should make a point of continuing that. It's good!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

shrift, I saw a post, "were you a kid who'd ring people's doorbells and then run away? UPS is hiring!"

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, UPS

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I am annoyed as hell. Remember a couple of weeks ago when I picked up my blood pressure meds and it had a note that said (roughly) "You're overdue for a physical and bloodwork and if you don't get them done we won't refill your meds"? I was sure that if I sent a message saying "Yeah, pandemic, you don't REALLY want me to come into the office for something that isn't an actual illness, right?", they would say "Oh god, do NOT come in to the office; we'll refill your meds."

Yeah, no. They really want me to come in for a physical and bloodwork. What the fuck. That is some kind of bullshit. They said "we schedule the physicals in office during well time only in AM so you are not around any sick type visits." I am not filled with confidence, motherfuckers.

Because we're doing so well IDing people with COVID. Uh-huh. I'm sorry, Steph. That is, indeed, bullshit.

Oh dear, Tep. I'm surprised they would insist like that.

That reminds me, I need to get my car smogged if I can find some place that will do it...

Yeah, I seriously thought it was an automatically generated message that they would overrule. I think it's important to have a physical and have bloodwork done (I even said that in the message I sent them), but it seems really short-sighted to ask patients to come in right now, if they don't actually need to. God damn it.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wow—. I had the same thing, but we met over Zoom! And I got my meds!

We have some furloughs (41 in our School). Some people nearing retirement volunteered to take partial furloughs and they are pretty happy. Others, not so much. Most of them have to do with things that happen in the building that are not happening (video recording, lab and simulation set up, reception, and building maintenance requests). I am not furloughed.

Research is coming back to the building June 1. We are looking at coming back, but maybe not everyone every day July 6 when students will be cleared to enter the buildings for labs and they might need technical or administrative support.

We can also go in sort of as needed- not really to work, but to pick up and deposit checks or use the high speed internet to download videos I HAVE TO EDIT BECAUSE WE FURLOUGHED THE PERSON WHO KNOWS HOW!!!

Sorry.
