Wow—. I had the same thing, but we met over Zoom! And I got my meds!
We have some furloughs (41 in our School). Some people nearing retirement volunteered to take partial furloughs and they are pretty happy. Others, not so much. Most of them have to do with things that happen in the building that are not happening (video recording, lab and simulation set up, reception, and building maintenance requests). I am not furloughed.
Research is coming back to the building June 1. We are looking at coming back, but maybe not everyone every day July 6 when students will be cleared to enter the buildings for labs and they might need technical or administrative support.
We can also go in sort of as needed- not really to work, but to pick up and deposit checks or use the high speed internet to download videos I HAVE TO EDIT BECAUSE WE FURLOUGHED THE PERSON WHO KNOWS HOW!!!
Sorry.
shrift, those are beautiful! I would be tempted but I know better than to buy anything with a heel above 2" now.
I will say that despite everything else, my feet are the happiest they've been in a long time. No heels, no pinchy climbing shoes: no corns or blisters or anything. So nice.
I am dreading wearing shoes again. Even as much as I sit on my ass (and it is a LOT) my feet still randomly hurt - like I'm footsore from walking too much. What's up with that?
I think the hardest part for me will be remembering to close the stall door in the ladies' room when the rest of the staff come back.
Timelies all!
Welp, the group that runs the summer camp we signed Mr. S up for just sent an e-mail saying camp was cancelled. Don't know what we're going to do now....
I went into the office - stamped a sig on 150+ documents and dated them, then scanned them back in and emailed them off. Please to bring some technology to my workplace. I did a couple other things and then I left (at 4) and went to a local garden center and bought another round of herb/veggies and some perennials and some pots and some bird feeders and seed! WOOHOO!
As I was walking back to my door from feeding the alley cats I overheard some lady asking an employee at the door of the pizza parlor if they had anything besides pizza in a plaintive voice, like "won't somebody think of the childrenpeople who don't like pizza?"
Now most pizzerias have at least breadsticks and a few sides, if not a wider menu of sandwiches and Italian specialties. But if you don't want pizza, why the hell are you standing in front of a pizza parlor?
I sat out in the backyard after work, and it was glorious. I even pulled some random weeds! But mostly I made sure that various things were buttoned up correctly, we are supposed to be getting thunderstorms tonight.
Work lunch was catered from Panera today, so we were spread out in the dining hall again.
I shouldn't make snide comments about UPS, I guess. We are shipping packages to a FedEx facility via UPS. By accident, and because FedEx is being a PITA, but still.
For a little while there I thought I would get everything on my to do list for today done. Nope.
