I forgot I had an 8:30 call this morning, until I saw... as I was logging on at 8:30!
My point is, I have not showered. Next call is in 40 minutes. I thought the nemesis might be on this next call and I could somehow shame him, but no.
Right, shower and dress. My poor dog-walker having to see me all pj'd up and crazy haired.
I know I've been a muffaletta pedant in the past but these days there are no rules.
I do wish I had some olives, though. Just to snack on.
To be fair, I'm using olive tapenade from Kroger rather than real olive salad. I need to drizzle some olive oil over it to make it more authentic!
So, like, muffaletta sliders, Matt? Needs must when the devil drives. That doesn't sound like a terrible idea, actually, although that soft sweet bread would sure be different.
Yes, though just a singular slider, as it was just a test. The sweet roll really doesn't work that well with the ingredients (though they're great for salmon burgers with horseradish mustard!). I think things will improve dramatically once I get light, crispy sesame bread tomorrow.
olive salad is different than olives!
But with olives I can
make
olive salad!
Probably not for lunch today though since these ciabatta rolls are on their third rise and won't be ready to eat until like 3pm.
Just got off a Zoom meeting with my office staff ... the CEO is tentatively going for everyone getting back on July 6. July? The city's lockdown is supposed to be lifted June 8, as of this week. sigh ....
We're now mid-June (they reevaluate every 2 weeks) buuuuut....leadership thinks it is likely we'll remain primarily/default wfh through the end of the YEAR.
Which I think is a responsible tack. But jesus, I really am trying not to think that far out For Reasons.
Our office person has ordered a bunch of supplies for when we do get back - hand sanitizer, wipes, gloves, etc., many back-ordered - and wants me to deal with the delivery ... since I'm not sure where the building loading dock is, or how to get a delivery person from there to the office (the entire building is on security - you need the fob to get into the building, up to the floor we're on and into the office), so it's going to be ... well, I'll think of it as an adventure! I can go into the inner workings of the building! right?

Yeah, my leadership has said the same thing. Yikes.
I have some olives to eat, but hardly any other muffaletta ingredients. I would be sadder, except I walked down to the office lunch place I used to go most days and picked up a salad and it was so good! Even when I try, I can't deal with the one million different ingredients in a bought salad, which is why they are always better.
There's almost no place close to my office where I can get lunch. Almost everything except McDonald's is closed ... there's a place that sells so-so (overpriced) burgers and fries a Potbelly (sandwiches ... which they toast, even the PB&J and tuna). I've been bringing frozen meals to heat up or just skipping lunch, but I'd love to get something really good.
Our leadership has not said when we're going back, and I think they're going to be hella flexible about WFH. For one thing, a lot of people take transit, and that seems much more scary than the actual office...
Folks who are still going into downtown are saying that parking is getting more difficult, so clearly people are beginning to filter back into the commercial spaces.
Me, I have to bring my bike to the shop and have them make some adjustments to it: I'm thinking I will probably ride to work at least some of the time for a while.
