Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

Coding and Sleeping

Sorry you two are being dragged through this, Dana.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Thanks, guys.

I guess the possible good news is that my contract job is again making noises about a conversion to full-time. The local guy I work with has been very complimentary and is agitating for it, trying to convince the higher-ups. So that's a possible route back to having benefits we don't pay out the nose for.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Uuuuggghhhh Dana. Good luck with the benefits getting!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Best of luck with obtaining employment, Dana and DH of Dana. What a lot of stress for nothing! That company doesn't deserve either of you.

I dislike the person I have become, and the illness I wish upon the idiots. But I can't help it. They deserve what they get, but the rest of the citizens they will come in contact with don't.

Laura, I am right there with you. I'm afraid for the workers who are forced to be in harm's way, but I no longer give a crap what happens to the idiots who want to behave as if everything is normal and fine. I just don't have the emotional bandwidth left to care about people who won't care about anyone else.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

sigh

~ma to everyone. I just want to charter a private plane and fly allay'all out here to stay for the duration. We've had no active cases on-island for several days, and there's actual testing and, while there's absolutely going to be some tourist who brings it in, we've got some hope of limiting the spread, since we have much more ability to limit people coming in.

That is good to hear, DebetEsse. I was just having a moment of despair that everywhere was fucking up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dana, your husband (and you!) deserve immense praise for putting up with all that drawn-out bullshit for so long. What assholes.

What Amy said! And I hope you get those sweet sweet benefits.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I would like to echo DebetEsse in wishing I could bring all y'all here: there haven't been any new confirmed cases on the island in nearly a week, and with only one ferry running and all the cruise ships having canceled their stops in Seattle, we're expecting a lot less tourist traffic this season.

Our wings are not tired.

It really helps to know that there are places where people are staying safe.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Today I have been on WebEx, Zoom, GoToMeeting, and then watched the Governor on FB Live.

I love the idea of either of those islands (or New Zealand) for the duration.
