Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm glad that hawk was rescued.

I'm seesawing between hope and despair, and it's exhausting.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

And right near the zoo, people in an apartment building notices that one of the hawks (from a nest in a tree just outside) had gotten tangled in something and was hanging from a tree and couldn't get loose. He turned out to have been tangled in a length of monofilament; a crew from a tree company came by, one climbed the tree, got the hawk, he was sent off to a raptor rehabilitation center. They cut him loose, rehydrated him, made sure he was OK and he was released near his nest. yay!

This is happy making. I'm going to focus on these people instead of the other people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I feel incredibly guilty, but still. It's a pandemic!

You shared information, you didn't get the kid fired. You don't need to feel guilty!

I wish I had a WaWa.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My parents decided they would head back north this weekend, and are staying with us. The house is more of a mess than I'd like, but there's only so much we can do given time restrictions. (We'll see if my folks stay the whole weekend, given my dad's lack of patience and Mr. S's behavior.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

There were the usual duckling parades

I had to make way for ducklings the other night. A small troop of them were following mama across Rt. 2 the other evening while I was driving back from the bike path. They were very dark, and I didn't notice them against the pavement until almost the last moment. But I did, so no dead duckies.

Meanwhile, those who want a haircut but are observing the stay at home orders can get desperate. Steven Colbert's producer gets a home haircut. Best line: "You don't want to sever the medulla oblongata."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, birds

And apparently they're defying the governor's order.

There was some weird language about areas with low levels of infection (or something, that doesn't sound exactly right) being able to relax restrictions further if health officials agreed. I don't know if that's what's going on but I don't think it's a good idea. For my own habits, I'm concerned that my easy access to no contact delivery will be compromised...
