Oh Hil. It's tough to stop yourself from reading the comments sometimes :(
I'm feeling muc much better now. The nausea finally went away, so I was able to have a protein bad and drink some water and take medication. The only problem is I don't remember when I took it! Oops. Guess I'll skip it for now unless I wake up again unable to sleep. I remember being half awake and thinking "oh yeah, it's kicked in for sure!"—I think that might be why j fell asleep for a couple hours with my walking boot still on!
Hope the sleep found you both, meara & Hil!
I need to find a snarky recap of Person of Interest S1. I'm slowly making my way through it. (Taraji Henson really stands out and Michael Emerson is a gift that just keeps giving.)
Beverly, right after the Parkland shootings, there were ... signs? posts? ... along the lines of your kid's life isn't more important than my (2nd amendment) rights. sigh ....
And someone in California decided, since he had to wear a mask to go to the grocery, he'd wear a KKK hood.
Keep in mind, the last poll I saw showed 75% of the country in favor of a slow re-open. It just takes a few loud idiots to make all this noise.
Meara, I hope your recovery goes well.
Hey Buffistas, every week, Wizarding World will have a celebrity reading a chapter of Harry Potter. For the inaugural week, it's none other than Daniel Radcliffe.
Take a listen: [link]
Upcoming readers include: Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni, and Eddie Redmayne.

I figured it's something to pass the time.
Hope the sleep found you both, meara & Hil!
This!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! May the corona blues go away soon. We are having tacos and jalapeño margaritas tonight because, hey, tacos and margaritas. My DIL's parents are coming over and we are celebrating in the driveway, although really I have plenty of room inside for distancing for 6 people. DIL's mom is a teacher in the Florida virtual school, but they used to have monthly in-person meetings. It wasn't as big a transition for her. We got together in the parking lot of an ice cream shop a week or so ago and it was quite nice so we decided we could forgo the hugs and still get together safely once a week. I see the kids every day since they live here, but they miss her parents.
Oh, and big news, the kids are buying a townhouse! We went up over the weekend to check out the community and gave it a thumbs up. We love having them here, but they are 25 years old and looking to start their own family. They put in the offer, which was accepted. So assuming the inspections go well they will be home owners. Very excited for them. They were already pre-qualified for a lot more on a mortgage so that should be fine. They are absurdly practical and have all their ducks in a row. Woo!
Keep in mind, the last poll I saw showed 75% of the country in favor of a slow re-open. It just takes a few loud idiots to make all this noise.
Unfortunately those idiots like to get in other people's faces, and will be spreading any germs their idiocy nets them. If the effects of the pandemic only hit people who flout safety measures I'd be cheering on the Proud Boys Used PPE Licking Jamboree.
I'm thinking of chalking PLAGUE HOUSE on the sidewalk of the guy down the block who isn't wearing a mask and standing out on the curb.
Yeah, I'm embarrassed and infuriated that the KKK hood was actually here in San Diego County (Santee is its own city - referred to by locals as Klantee, BTW. But still, we like to believe we're better than this sort of thing in CA). The news last night said Santee sheriffs are seeking the guy to press charges.
