Gavin, ask yourself this question. What are you more afraid of, a giant murderous demon or me?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I went to get COVID tested yet again -- this is a study being done in Cambridge, so it's for everyone who works/lives there.

Since I'm waiting out whether to see if I'm infected, this should be the most interesting test result yet. I've certainly got no symptoms yet, anyway, including fever and oxygenation and so on.

Then, since i was out anyway, I stopped by Trader Joe's and stocked up on some yummy things.

English muffin with grape jam: I've never liked Amanda Palmer, who I thought her only real talent was self-promotion.

From what I've seen, it's really hard to get on the bad side of Neil G., either personally or professionally. So I expect the break up is all on her.

What is even happening?

I'm glad you got tested again, Theodosia. Here's hoping your results are negative (or, if you get some immunity benefit, that you have an asymptomatic case and get that benefit).

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Never been a Palmer fan myself, but they did seem to make each other very happy, so I hoped for the best for them.

ordered a soft sided pet carrier for the plane.

msbelle, I'm a worry wart--you are carrying the dog in the plane's cabin, right? I don't think they'll allow a soft-sided carrier in the hold.

Eeennglish muffinnns! I'll have to cobble something--with strawberry preserves, or orange marmalade. I hope you get useful test results, Theo.

Dana, I hope the meds work--fast and well.

Someone posted a cartoon of the rear window of an SUV reading: Your health is not more important than my liberties. And I wonder, how the hell did we arrive at a place where a soccer mom can say that in all sincerity. It makes me despair.

But really, I'm no better. I'm wishing for a magic button. Someone says something selfish and callous, I just push the button, and they disappear, nice and tidy. I'd just walk from place to place, eliminating assholes. And feel good about it.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Your health is not more important than my liberties.

I guy I knew in high school is an ER doctor, and I know for a fact that he voted for Trump. While I genuinely don't wish illness or death on him, I have been idly wondering how that vote is working out for him, and if he still stands by his vote.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Never been a Palmer fan myself, but they did seem to make each other very happy, so I hoped for the best for them.

Yeah, this. I just hope their kid will be okay.

Hugs to everyone who wants them, sincere nods to everyone who'd prefer that.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'd just walk from place to place, eliminating assholes. And feel good about it.

Ah, living the dream...

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Your health is not more important than my liberties

That is rank absurdity.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Your health is not more important than my liberties

Applying that logic I should be at liberty to break the owner of the SUV's nose.

Which is tempting...

Wow, that's asshole-ery right there. (And this statement could apply to so many things above, sadly)

I survived surgery! Still feeling pretty nauseated despite an infusion of zofran and a scopolamine patch behind my ear, but hoping the triscuits I just ate will settle it a bit. My leg feels like someone sliced it open. Which is what they dod, so...yeah! Not sure about taking more painkiller since I don't yet have a full stomach to take it on, but also feeling like painkiller may not help a ton with the sharp stingy kind of pain? I'll give it a few.

I had conscious sedation and remember nothing but I do wonder if I said anything!
