All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Huh. Our April revenue was actually up from 2019. Direct-to-customer by a lot, but even "warehouse" shipments are up a little. I think we are still down for the year, but still. Surprising.

Will this affect the furlough situation? Not holding my breath.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's more than reasonable for corporate employees, but I would rather see our fulfillment centers getting the same level of investment and care.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Not great start to the day in the office. Missed a call in with department Sr staff due to a call coming into the office. Report I thought I sent in, was never sent - got call from big boss.

And my nemesis who sent me all the paper docs to deal with sent me another large envelope!!!!

So true, Jessica. I think our warehouse workers are being protected (temperature checks, masks, gloves, distance maintained), but I doubt they are getting taken care of as well as I would like (bonuses and time off and just getting paid well). People (management) keep thanking them for dealing with the record number of orders, but are they doing anything tangible? The guy in charge of the warehouse is doing a "town hall" for us on Monday, maybe what he says will make me feel better about that...

You already have a nemesis, msbelle? That seems fast

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oy ... got a message from our CEO that, effective June 1, we're having salary cuts. 10% for me (it's on a sliding scale - she's cutting 20% from her own, 15% from people making more, 10% for me and my salary range, 5% for people making less) which, since I'm moving into a new, more expensive apartment, may be an issue. But I've been saving up for more than a year, so I can probably ride it out. Will still have health insurance, so that's something ... not terrible, just one more thing to deal with.

Supposedly there is an International Workers Day strike today in support of the FC employees but I can't find any information about who is organizing it and what the specific demands are that have been sent to senior leadership. As far as I can tell this is an internet meme and not a real thing.

I'm sorry, Toddson. I hope you can ride it out ok

Thanks ... at least I'll still have a job and have money coming in. I do have savings, so I can draw on that if I need to.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

What is even happening?

I'm sorry, Toddson.

So after weeks and weeks, Husband didn't get the job.

UGH. Dana, I'm so sorry.

I'm alive! And Covid negative, as I expected. I go to my PCP this morning to get abused about my weight, cholesterol, and BP. Sigh. All of those were so vastly improved last summer, but now worse than ever. Double sigh.

I'm glad you're negative, Laura. I hope your appointment wasn't too bad.

Youngest had his first telemedicine visit with his gastroenterologist today. It went well. He's supposed to have endoscopy and a colonoscopy in two weeks (like a rotisserie chicken), but the gastro said we'll put that off until summer, because we're still in our COVID-19 peak here. He still needs a bone scan too, because he was on steroids for so long.

I think for routine appointments, this should become the rule. If things were normal, he'd go once every three months, ie four times a year. Since he has an infusion every two months (at which they weigh him, draw blood, take his B.P.), if/when he is feeling well, I'd love to see those separate gastro visits cut down to one in-person visit and three telemedicine appointments per year.
