Gris, where in Brazil? I lived in Rio shortly before I joined the board and traveled almost everywhere when we lived there. Saudades!!
Natter 76: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Foaminess
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I am so sorry Susan. This must be very difficult.
Oh & my friend who is a nurse & former costumer just got in a stash of cat prints & let me get first pick for a mask. She's been making them for coworkers & fam & friends. She's also been making scrub caps, including custom ones for people with hair standard ones don't well work with-ones that handle a large bun, dreads & locs, ponytail-contain-ers, etc.
decided to make a video documenting the craziness of two full time teachers and three kids
That was so much fun! Also, exhausting.
I am so tired. so so so tired. but the hard physical stuff is over. my forearms hurt from.. god I don't even know.
There are x marks for where customers are to stand in line. X marks to where custoemrs and the cashier are to stand at various points in the transaction.
Person steps forward to the cash wrap to put things on the counter and the cashier steps back until the customer steps back. Tehn the cashier steps forward adn does their thing and steps back so the customer can step forward and pay, etc. So we can maintain 6 ft distance.
I'm sure there will be people asked to leave tomorrow (anyone loitering or not following social distancing will be told they have to follow social distancing rules). It will be intersting. I may keep a tally of how many people are mean, I'm expecting a few.
The Parks and Rec special is on NBC right now.
Gris, thanks for sharing that video. It's was great to watch, although I was exhausted for you by the end.
One possible answer is employment and tax laws, but I've got to think it's cheaper to have MD employees than CA.
My company has remote workers - most of the salespeople work from home when they are not travelling to customers and I know one of the Planners lives in Idaho and comes to our office once a month (or every couple of months (almost certainly not at all right now)) so I would bet we have processes in place for all that. We have a whole group that's in Arkansas (because Walmart). That said, they have been historically resistant to my department in particular working remotely, and the new Managing Director has insisted that his Vice Presidents live locally so whether it would really fly or not is an open question. It's a nice thought, though. Supposing I could get my house ready to sell and so forth. I've actually got friends who are NOT Buffistas in Baltimore, too!
I hope the bullshit requiring the admin leave is over tomorrow, sarameg.
Video marked to watch later, Gris. I am intrigued!I hope the relocation goes well.
"I'll just watch something until the boop-boop" sounds like words to live by
Good luck, askye. I hope people comply.
I am debating whether I can stay awake through Parks and Rec time here. I kinda want to watch what I take are the first two eps of JAR's show after, but that is really getting late. Although I often find myself unable to sleep during that time anyway, so maybe I should go for it deliberatley?
I made the scones, facetimed a friend and did not sew. Now I have overwhelmed myself looking at canning stuff and flower garden stuff. why I think of taking on new projects when I have a million still unfinished will be the death of me.
My house is a mess and still have boxes to unpack.
