Gris, thanks for sharing that video. It's was great to watch, although I was exhausted for you by the end.
Natter 76: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Foaminess
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
One possible answer is employment and tax laws, but I've got to think it's cheaper to have MD employees than CA.
My company has remote workers - most of the salespeople work from home when they are not travelling to customers and I know one of the Planners lives in Idaho and comes to our office once a month (or every couple of months (almost certainly not at all right now)) so I would bet we have processes in place for all that. We have a whole group that's in Arkansas (because Walmart). That said, they have been historically resistant to my department in particular working remotely, and the new Managing Director has insisted that his Vice Presidents live locally so whether it would really fly or not is an open question. It's a nice thought, though. Supposing I could get my house ready to sell and so forth. I've actually got friends who are NOT Buffistas in Baltimore, too!
I hope the bullshit requiring the admin leave is over tomorrow, sarameg.
Video marked to watch later, Gris. I am intrigued!I hope the relocation goes well.
"I'll just watch something until the boop-boop" sounds like words to live by
Good luck, askye. I hope people comply.
I am debating whether I can stay awake through Parks and Rec time here. I kinda want to watch what I take are the first two eps of JAR's show after, but that is really getting late. Although I often find myself unable to sleep during that time anyway, so maybe I should go for it deliberatley?
I made the scones, facetimed a friend and did not sew. Now I have overwhelmed myself looking at canning stuff and flower garden stuff. why I think of taking on new projects when I have a million still unfinished will be the death of me.
My house is a mess and still have boxes to unpack.
New projects are exciting and unfinished projects have an oppressive hint of obligation to them
-t I kinda think the store manager is looking forward to telling some customers no and being able to actually make them leave. So many times we have to let certain behaviors slide because "the customer is always right" .
He is taking this stuff really seriously. In fact, he personally bought enough reusable masks so we can all have one. the ones from the store got there but he said it was pulling teeth to get them and we have enough of those for everyone to have a new mask every day for 30 days but he wasn't sure if he could get any after that. And he wanted us to have a mask we could reuse.
He is really one of the best managers I've had. He's bought us food during the holidays, paid for it out of his own pocket and things like that.
Gris, that is fantastic! Also, you have both a Matilda and a bunny? That is so fricking awesome I cannot even.
Dana and shrift, thank you thank you thank you! I have to be cautious and judicious so as not to spoil myself, but that is *exactly* the kind of meaty meta talk I was craving.
I just spent three hours at the actual office at work, and... wow, that's horrible. I already knew I was okay being a demi-hermit, but going back in there just solidified it. I truly do not ever want to go back any more than is absolutely necessary.
In fact, he personally bought enough reusable masks so we can all have one.
Wow, that is great.
So good to read, askye!
The film crew at our school, inspired by some of my wife's Tik Toks, decided to make a video documenting the craziness of two full time teachers and three kids, partly to build empathy with our demanding parent community.
That was great! And so fun seeing your family.
