I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm not sure where to find due South meta these days, nor can I think of somewhere you could check. I can ask on Twitter.

Oh boy. Meta may be lost of the mists of time on mailing lists and Livejournal. I just checked Fanlore for due South meta, and the results were sparse: [link]

JZ, someone suggested a couple of Dreamwidth users:

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Yeah, the Last Great dS Period was....a little over ten years ago, during the Second Ray Wars. So some stuff might be on Dreamwidth and Livejournal, but it's definitely not thoroughly indexed or archived.

The due South Noticeboard on DW is still pretty active, and has just under 200 posts tagged meta:

There's a due South Meta Tumblr that actually has a great deal of excellent meta, but of course it's on Tumblr, so you have to deal with....Tumblr.

And truepenny on DW did a watchthrough up to 4x02 back in '08 (during the Second Ray War and the brief but fervent flush of new fans that period brought to dS). truepenny is still an active/current DW user, so they would likely answer comments, even on super old posts like these.

A second person echoed esse's suggestion of the DS meta Tumblr.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Dad sent me these sun baklavas ...like a ski mask but for sun protection to use...and while they will be good for errands it won't work as well for work since it covers the whole head and pulling it down for just the face seems like it would be uncomfortable for a whole day.

So far I've been using the N95 masks we had in the house already due to Seattle now having bad smoke seasons like 3 of the last 5 summers and me having asthma. But they put so much pressure on my jaw that it makes my TMJ flare something fierce by the end of a grocery run, so it's not going to be an option for when we're back in the office.

Anyway, I just got a neck gaiter, which seems to be like a balaclava without the hood, and so far it seems like a reasonably comfortable mask alternative, enough that I'm ordering some in Auburn and Seahawks colors to be a bit more festive. (I also have an order in for a set of 3 cloth masks in what seems to be the new standard style for such things, but I'm waiting till they arrive and I get a chance to test them for comfort before investing in more.)

Susan, if you use a face mask band, you get a lot more control over how much pressure it applied to your face:

There are a couple of different varieties, very acquirable on Etsy, or easy enough to make:
