Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Not only are the birds louder, I'm also hearing bird calls that I don't normally hear in NYC.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It's like a Hitchcock movie.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Now that I have a working sewing machine again, I'm in the mask-making business. So a friend drove down from Lowell, we sat 6 feet apart out in my garden for a little, we took a socially distant walk with her dog, and I felt like I did a good deed, especially because she hasn't had a lot of face-to-face conversations, living alone and retired.

Tomorrow, back to the grind. I suppose it's still technically a holiday here (Patriot's Day (the real one)) even though the Boston Marathon is NOT being held this year, and in fact I gather the cops will be attempting to discourage runners from running it on their own unofficially.

IIRC, the race was still held through two World Wars, this is the first time ever it has been postponed. I sure hope they get to run it in September or October.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not to make anyone feel bad about their kids, but my 12-year-old neighbor gave his father a really good haircut this weekend!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

{sniff} I don't feel threatened.

Thrive to spite them

I need to see if I can get matthew to try buzzing the back and sides of my hair again it's getting long. The top part is getting long and I don't have a problem with that.

Got word that the local Bi Lo grocery store , which I normally don't like, isn't that busy these days so I may go there and get stuff instead of relying on Wal Mart.

We had Zaxby's for dinner tonight. It was nice to have fast food for a change.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I never did make cookies, but we did take a walk, and I did make a grown-up dinner of seared scallops, lime rice, and veggies. Maybe cookies tomorrow.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Despite living alone, I was really feeling like I needed a day without talking to anyone today.

I live with two dogs and somedays I just really need to them to shut the hell up. Today was not one of them. I needed interaction.

My insomnia (which is the can't-fall-asleep variety, rather than the can't-STAY-asleep variety), has come roaring back this week.

Tep, mine phased out for a few solid weeks. Almost as if getting away from the insane of work was more relaxing than Covid. But, oh, it's back. The insomnia is back.

There is a local job that I am super tempted to apply for and have a decent chance of an offer. But I worry that the specific military portion of my job is why I like it sometimes and so maybe it's apples and oranges.

she just said she trusts her gut which doesn't tell me where she gets any info to trust her gut.

Her gut flora and fauna have wicked credentials.

Add-on: The former Public Affairs Officer for this military base was moved and she's doing Quarantinis on Facebook. One, we've become better friends which is great because she's awesome. Two, I want a juice press sooooo badly. Wouldn't this be amazing in my kitchen? Maybe not that specific one but damn I want fresh cocktails.
