He does have to get up at 5:15 now, which is kind of brutal for him, BUT if you come home at 5:30 p.m., you can take a nap before dinner! (True story: he really did try to nap today, and after 15 minutes he gave up and said "I tried to nap but I was too excited about being home by 5:30!")

Aw
That's awesome, Steph.
That is awesome Steph.
Gud your wife would have figured something out if you weren't in her life. A few weeks go my low pressure warning light ent on and I thought maybe it was because it got kinda cold. And then it persisted so several days later I finally got to the tire shop and all the tires were low. They had to change the air valve thingies.
But no is around to do that for me so I do it myself. And she can figure out these things for herself.
Yay Tim's new job! That's awesome!
I am HOME!! I packed my stuff up, and my friends put it in one friend's car, and she unloaded everything, and then the other friends picked up dinner and moved some more things for me. I now have a TV in my room (before, it was in our downstairs, but now I want TV!). I have my scooter downstairs, and can go up and down the stairs on my peg leg. I'm a little worried about like, going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, because peg leg is annoying for that--put it on, go into the bathroom, take it off, use the bathroom, put it back on, get back to bed, take it off...too much! But haven't figured out a good plan yet. I did order a new scooter (the ATV version! So it has air-filled tires to be easier on crazy sidewalks and stuff--the current one is great on wooden floors and in the mall and stuff, but not on sidewalks and curbs and stuff. Decided it was worth the $$
Yay! I hope you can be comfortable at home, and can figure out ways to get around easily.
Oh no, we have more rodentia than I had thought.
Something has gotten into the wall, which is not substantial at all because I live in a Sixties mobile home. We heard it scratching and grunching up behind the biggest book case. We investigate and decide it can't possibly be in behind the books because they are all tightly packed in. Then it moved down behind the TV and made a lot of noise.
We tried scaring it away by pounding the wall inside and out, which worked for a short period of time. I kept up the wall slapping every time I heard it and now maybe there is peace.
Then I heard rustling in the kitchen cupboard. Alas, the rodent has been busy and got into all my pasta. I can't believe I never heard a thing before today.
It really liked the tortellini and egg noodles. Those bags were empty. The little stinker chewed through every bag of pasta and did some nibbling so I had to throw out 12 pounds of pasta and vacuum inside the cupboard. I found two holes chewed through the cheap Masonite under the sink. Glued on some metal to cover. Probably will only slow it down for awhile.
Tomorrow I get to remove the contents of my kitchen cupboards and wash all the pots and pans and remove all the little turds. Yay, that will be fun.
The cats are no help at all. I think they are too scared to approach.
Yay for being home! You might want to consider a plastic pee container to have next to the bed in case of middle of the night urgency if you don't think you can make it. That could be the old lady in me talking! I keep considering that for Otter Lake because it is a long dang walk downstairs and I generally have to go a couple times during the night. One of these years I will either need to put an upstairs bathroom in, or get a portable device. So far I have just convinced myself it was a bit of exercise.
Oh Katie Bee! In Florida I have everything in plastic containers because of the possibility of little critters, in Otter Lake I use plastic because of mice! Yes, past life experience has taught me this lesson. I never saw a mouse this year, but Zoe was convinced they were there as she barked at the chimney and walls often.
I'm trying to exercise my way out of funk. Swam 60 laps (an hour) each day for the last few days and today started with a 6:30 AM walk with Zoe. I know being active helps, and taking a look at my overgrown yard it is clear there is no shortage of stuff to do.
Oh man, Katerina! That would wig me right out, in addition to the hassle and loss of food!

My mother has been having some problems with her hip, and said to me the other day that after sweeping all the leaves and doing other active things, she actually felt better! I take this as my cue not to sweep more leaves...
