Oh, that's great, JZ. Be well.

It is taking a lot of willpower not to spend more money than I have ordering takeout to support my local restaurants that are staying open for takeout (and enjoy their food, not gonna lie, it's all good).
Yesterday the local brunch place had a chicken & waffles takeout meal with cornbread and banana pudding and I guess if we absolutely needed to order it every night to keep them in business I would be willing to make that sacrifice.
JZ, I'm so glad you are able to visit in person.
{{{{{JZ}}}}} I'm so sorry.
The palliative care doctor confirmed that I can visit.
Sending so much love and wishes for strength.
I'm glad you are able to visit, JZ. So much love to you and the rest of your family.
She has to figure out how to get to the East Bay since Muni has shut down most of their lines.
Also, she just found out that somebody broke into her church and vandalized it. Smashing things up maliciously.
The major shutdown doesn't happen until tomorrow, so for today it should be easy enough to get out there. I just checked all the schedules and I'm good.
I cannot believe someone did that (and did it to another church a dozen blocks away last week, apparently). Our parish has been shut down and locked up for a while, but we don't have an alarm system and if someone was able to break open the side door they'd have had access to everything and the priest, in his second-story apartment behind the parish hall, couldn't hear a thing.
That makes me so sad, JZ. As an ancient one I remember well when our Catholic churches were open 24/7 and there was never an issue. Granted, that was a long time ago. I know the church in Otter Lake is still open much of the time despite no one being in residence. Still, you better be pretty convinced there is no God to be vandalizing churches!
I don't even think they stole anything, because there was nothing of value to steal. Everything that was wrecked was hand-made, either by a parishioner or by a crafter commissioned by a parishioner. Things like a pasteboard landscape with five plywood butterflies on it, representing the five families our sanctuary committee spirited out of Nicaragua to safety in Canada (even in the 1980s, the US was not an optimal place for people fleeing political violence). What kind of statement does anyone think they're making destroying something like that?
Apparently Boris Johnson has now been moved to intensive care. Man is a bozo, but I don't wish that on him.
