Husband now has to speak with a FOURTH person, a new person who is starting on Monday. I mean, this is still good, but OH MY GOD.

Much ~ma to Zmayhem family and also everyone else! I am sure I would miss someone if I tried to list people.
Happy Birthdays Tom and Amy! I know it is a different Amy and a different spelling, but that reminded me of the birthday cake that the Empress got that said Happy Birthday "Aimee"!
I am waiting to get on zoom again at one.
Also, nurses are wonderful! There are so many nurses in Rochester coming out of retirement to help staff the hospitals. They have turned most of the burn trauma unit and the surgical suites into ICU.Covid beds. Nurses from the OR with ER experience are staffing these. They have set up a separate, 5 patient trauma ER to take urgent non-Covid surgical cases, and that is being staffed with a lot of per diet nurses with OR experience or the OR nurses without ER experience. We just built a course in a week for these returning nurses. They are also scared, worried about PPE, worried about bringing things home to their families, some staying in motels so they don't bring anything home. Our hospital has started manufacturing our own hand sanitizer after raiding the chemistry department.
I'm just now getting to shower today, slept in too late to get one before work.

Literally every time I see or hear the name Amy/Aimee, I feel compelled to add a silent IF THAT IS YOUR NAME.
Similarly, our work has color-coded shuttles connecting the different campuses, and whenever the lime goes by I yell inside my head I DO NOT LIME!
All this is to distract myself from waiting for rounds to finish so I can call the hospital for an update and ask if I can FaceTime him (he won't respond, but he will be able to hear).
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone!
Sorry, chrismg, I've never been to Austin.
Happy birthday, Tom!
Happy birthday, Tom!
Oh man, one of my contacts from St. Martin's, where I've been writing jacket copy for umpteen years, just got laid off. We're going to stay in touch personally -- I've "known" her since probably 2004 or 2005, although we've never met in person.
I hope she's going to be all right. But I'm also bummed because that means no more freelance assignments from that source for now.
goodness.
I just got a call from an employee I helped the other day and she just wanted to thank me and said she is going to send a letter after this so my bosses know. so nice.
I am putting in a non-food order at Target (need an iron and board) trying to think of what else I might need.
