I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

that reminded me of the birthday cake that the Empress got that said Happy Birthday "Aimee"!

Literally every time I see or hear the name Amy/Aimee, I feel compelled to add a silent IF THAT IS YOUR NAME.

Similarly, our work has color-coded shuttles connecting the different campuses, and whenever the lime goes by I yell inside my head I DO NOT LIME!

All this is to distract myself from waiting for rounds to finish so I can call the hospital for an update and ask if I can FaceTime him (he won't respond, but he will be able to hear).

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone!

Sorry, chrismg, I've never been to Austin.

Happy birthday, Tom!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Happy birthday, Tom!

Because books.

Oh man, one of my contacts from St. Martin's, where I've been writing jacket copy for umpteen years, just got laid off. We're going to stay in touch personally -- I've "known" her since probably 2004 or 2005, although we've never met in person.

I hope she's going to be all right. But I'm also bummed because that means no more freelance assignments from that source for now.

goodness.

I just got a call from an employee I helped the other day and she just wanted to thank me and said she is going to send a letter after this so my bosses know. so nice.

I am putting in a non-food order at Target (need an iron and board) trying to think of what else I might need.

Happy Birthday Tom!

Dana, I'm waiting for the people at the company your husband is interviewing with to pull out literal hoops for him to jump through.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Well, fuck. Just heard about the layoffs at my company - 2 laid off and 3 furloughed from my department of (used to be) 12. Not me this time but this sucks. I've been braced for it for 3 weeks and it still hit me like a brick. I hope they got decent severance packages...we were told that the owner is taking a 30% paycut and Directors and above 10%, which is something I guess, or I suppose more of us would be out.

Also this will make my workload even heavier and the drop in orders has not lightened my load much which is totally selfish of me but there it is.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Trump is just the gift that keeps giving, isn't he? Not just killing literally hundreds of thousands (potentially, and I do believe that's a sober possibility) he's managed to put 20 million out of work, lost 1/3 of the value of the stock market and I'm sure I'm forgetting even more.
