Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sometimes it's better to believe real hard that a bullet was dodged, even if you don't know for sure.

At work we got an extensive briefing on what our next step up on Captain Trumps will be. What to do if a resident thinks they are sick, what we'll do if a resident has a mild case and stays here.

Because books.

::hugs everyone from a responsible distance::

I'm so fucking furious. I'm sitting here at home just stewing, which is not productive, but the bakery owner has yet to get back to me about the points I asked to be clarified (such as when my self-quarantine period is starting/stopping, when I will come back to work, how she's going to pay me for the work she wants done while I'm home).

She also still seems to think that me self-quarantining can somehow include coming to the bakery to pick up and drop off laundry, and pick up invoices that need to be paid, and doing the bank deposit. Which are all emphatically not a part of the definition of self-quarantining as I understand it.

And now is really not the time to be looking for another job, you know?

Trying very hard to direct positive healing energy to JZ's dad (and JZ), and everyone who is ill, or home and stressed, instead.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yesterday, I really felt like I was over the crushing anxiety portion of the social distancing, but nope. Today it is back with a vengeance.

Our wings are not tired.

I am furious on your behalf too. How is your daughter doing with her recovery?

JZ - Apr 02, 2020 7:59:09 am PDT #19143 of 30019
See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I don't like that bakery owner. I'm gonna take a stand and say she's not good.

I really don't think I would be doing as well without Buffistas.

Earlier when I was combing my hair I was looking to see if I had more gray. (which would be great IMO) My sister rapidly turned gray when her son was very ill a couple years ago so we all check our gray when we are stressed out.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I went to the grocery Tuesday, right before our stay-at-home order took effect ... it was pretty well stripped of everything. When I went to pay, I made sure to stand on the markings so I'd be six feet away from the person ahead. An older man saw that there was a gap between the person ahead of me and the person ahead of her, who was putting their groceries on the belt, and stepped in ahead of her. She got his attention, said there was a line with distancing; he moved out and got behind me. When it was my turn to put my stuff on the belt, he moved up to right behind me to start putting his on the belt. The cashier told him to move back, then looked at me and said, "some people just don't get it." And there's a lot of that going on. Obviously, Amy's boss is one.

The city has closed the parks, the museums are closed, the libraries are closed (although they're making ebooks available online), all the stores except drugstores and grocery stores are closed ... and there are still people going out in groups. Maryland police arrested one couple because they were having a party for, I believe, 50-60 people; charges were endangering their five children.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, Amy, that is infuriating! None of that is ok

Because books.

Sara's doing well. She overdid it in terms of activity a little yesterday, so this morning she was sort of weepy and really sore, but I gave her ibuprofen and she went back to bed, where she's been sleeping.

::hugs sj:: The anxiety part of this whole situation is really crushing. Be kind to yourself.

I'm standing in a long line outside Trader Joe's. They're limiting the number of people in the store and the line is distanced, but it seems to be a line all hours of day and night, so might as well.

Work just changed from "we understand you might have kids at home we are flexible" to "if you want to take unpaid leave or go to part time part pay you can, otherwise we expect 8 hours". Boo.

Also my sister is going to have surgery on Monday.
