I have had a bunch of calls today, but I also accidentally took an hour and a half for lunch, between making it, eating it, going for a walk with my mother and also to CVS. Man, there was really no one in there, and yet somehow I bought the last bag of cotton balls!

She's hoping to go home soon (like, in an hour or two). She just has to tolerate the oral antibiotics, which is tough because she has no appetite. But so far, so good! Otherwise she's just sore and tired. And homesick. :-)

Yeah, the new owner is a piece of work. Brought up all over the world, the "daughter of philosopher parents" as her bio states (read: wealthy, pretentious white people), and just 29. She has no idea how to be anyone's boss. At least not well.

Texas gov is still not ordering a statewide stay-at-home order. I can almost see the argument that we're too big and varied for a single ordnance. And most of the major metropolitan areas already have one kind or another in place. But it's looking more dubious by the day.
Locally we seem to be moving out of panic-buying mode - I went to HEB Sunday around 11 and there was no line to get in, the selves didn't look nearly as picked-over, and I actually got a pack of toilet paper. Aside from groceries and a walk once a night, I'm staying in as much as I can.
