Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Punishingly Intricate

I'm curious about why your son and his wife still are going into work, Laura. Is it that Florida still hasn't shut down non-essential businesses?

Our wings are not tired.

Since they work in automotive service they are considered "essential". Tesla reduced their hours to 32, from their usual 50+, but they still have to go to work. They would happily be furloughed. My son literally works with no one else in parts, but DIL is a service adviser and works with both customers and techs. She makes every attempt to talk people out of service, but still that doesn't work all the time. She has refused to get in any customer cars. She used to drive them into the lot, into service, to the front for pickup, etc., but she has drawn a line.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

You guys, I my apartment was so disgusting. When I get stressed out, my procrastination levels just go off the chart.

I actually cleaned my apartment today! Go me!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I actually cleaned my apartment today! Go me!

Gold star for you! (I say, as I ignore the floor that hasn't been vacuumed since the Nixon administration.)

I vacuumed behind the couch and everything!

Many gold stars indeed! Woo!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go Tom! Metallic stars of all shades!

I'm taking a sick day tomorrow. I still don't have a real fever, but the cough and pain-when-I-take-a-deep-breath are tiring enough that I don't think trying to work is a good idea. I feel like I'm malingering, though.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Behind the couch? Are we even ALLOWED to vacuum back there?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Go Tom!

I just found out that my last living uncle is in hospice with a respiratory problem, and word is he'll be gone soon. He's 90, and geography kept me from getting to know him well. But he seems like fairly good people, and I think the world will be a little less without him in it. So many individual worlds blinking out right now. And most all of them a tragedy for someone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sorry, Calli.

Look at you, Tom! I finally cleaned my bathroom today, so that's something.
